Lookin real good!
Aggressive! Any rubbing? Looks like it could.
Thanks pwest. I haven’t gotten to take it for an actual test drive yet. As I was rolling it around to listen for rubbing I could hear something slightly while in the car. I got out and laid next to the car and started pushing it back and forth and confirmed the front cleared perfectly lock to lock. When I went to the back I looked all around and saw no contact or rub marks or anything. Then I pushed the car and could hear metal on metal rubbing but again couldn’t see anything touching. Took the wheel back off and measured how far the lug bolt sticks out from the wheel. About 2-3mm further than the old wheels and lugs. So apparently my lug bolts are slightly rubbing the wheel hub. Now I need to find 10 slightly shorter lug bolts, get some 3mm wheel spacers, grind down my lug bolts, or I don’t know. Any suggestions? Personally I’d like to stay away from spacers as the back wheels look perfect as is.
Def sounds like bolts rubbing on hub. Measure them and order shorter ones. There are plenty of places to order shorter or longer lugs. Shouldnt be an issue.
You could just do a stud conversion. I have a full set of 034 lug nuts with wheel lock lugs that you can have if you just want to buy some studs. When I put my new wheels on, I did a stud conversion and the bit for the 034 wheel lock lugs didn’t fit in my wheels so I had to buy other lug nuts. Let me know if you want them
10.9 would shut them right the fuck up.
Ever since the rs4 started obliterating all of the B5 records they have been VEEEEEERY quiet.
Once we started seeing the 12.2 all motor times and then 11.1-11.3 SC’d and ON PUMP it was like someone launched a giant STFU grenade that exploded in B5 land.
Are the stock bolts R12, R13, or R14?
M14 x 1.5 I believe.
M14 x 1.5 I believe.
You are correct but are they R12, R13, or R14? This would be the ball seat radius.
R13 I believe
But are your wheels bolt holes factory spec’d? Need whatever radius they are, no?

And I like pwest suggestion better by getting a stud conversion kit. Had them on pretty much every car for the last 10 years and never an issue and found swapping wheels just that much easier.
So the installation instructions say to use either R13 or R14 ball seat lugs or 60* tapered lugs. I know, doesn’t make sense. I ordered some OEM ball seat lugs thinking they were R13 but the eBay seller told me the lugs I got are R12. I overnighted some shorter OEM bolts last night again hoping they’re R13 but the people at ECS said they don’t know. So now I’m worried I have 60 lug bolts I can’t use. I’m also probably one of the few people that prefers the lug bolts over having studs with nuts.
Ha! I hear ya. We like what we like.
I would bet the ecs ones will be R13 or 14 like you need.

Just got a reply from Pyspeed. They said since my wheels were made for my car they can just use the stock bolts. Looks like the ones from ECS will be the right size as long as they’re not too long. Decided to go with 27mm bolts since the ones I’m currently using are 28mm and they stuck out 1 extra mm.
Thanks for the offer Pwest. I personally like running the stock bolts setup vs. doing the conversion. +karma

Fantastic setup! I really like this picture.
Have you considered changing your lights to clear corners and smoked side markers/tail lights?

Thanks Jimmy and I have actually, well recently at least. I love how ieatfishburritos’ car looks with the smoked taillights so it’s most likely gonna happen in the near future. I’ve been thinking about doing the clear corner mod to my headlights for a long time but I’m worried about breaking something in addition to it looking like a huge bitch to do. I’m probably gonna pick up some e-codes this summer, just trying to save a little money at the moment. Definitely gonna do the side markers which I think will look awesome when the car is white.
I thought the same thing about the CC mod, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought. Took me about an hour a piece and that includes accelerating the epoxy cure with a hairdryer. Hardest part is getting the reflector out without scratching the chrome or lense. Just need some chrome turn signal bulbs. Looks so much better.

Do this.
Lug bolts suck fucking balls. Get rid of them. No proper car should have them, period.

I personally prefer lug bolts.
I heard back from Keaton yesterday. We’re hitting the strip either Wednesday the 24th or Friday the 26th. I think it’d be awesome if you came too.
