MDUBZ Intro and B6 S4 Build Thread

preannouncing results in disaster.

results is not a noun

See, I just don’t get that frankly. It just seems, well shallow I guess. Triumphs and short falls, thats what life is about. I’m going to track, wait, no I’m not unless I do well and run a good time because I don’t want to look silly. I guess to each their own. Have fun mdubz. That’s all that really matters. Of course we want to project and see you achieve success but no reason not to share your enthusiasm in case you’re not.

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound? If my car goes 13’s and nobody saw or I don’t report the result, did it not run 13’s? Lol!

The issues are with the people who make bad decisions and then there cars suck. We already know the jhm stage 2 or 3 on the RS4 and s4 is good for low 11s or 10s. But the people who have failed or picked bad companies to work on there car or build there cars with no testing only to try and sell something seem to be mad at jhm and there customers success. So basically you have some looser with a broken down b5 for the 7th time this year wanting to heckle people if every jhm products dosen’t go 10s even tho there cars don’t or never will run

Stage 3 Rs4 ya say??? What is that? an even bigger supercharger?

mec, I’m not gonna clutter mdubz thread but to ask, do you have something against s/c as power adder for the 4.2 or in general? Seems you are an aquaintence of mdubz so I doubt you are intentionally knocking his choice, but also asking silly questions about an even bigger s/c means you don’t know anything about the power potential from jhm choice in blower or you do and are simply asking silly questions. Just my perception, may be way off base though.

It’s more superstition to be completely honest and if you build up your track night for all to see and do shitty you will also feel even more shitty.

If on the other hand you go to the strip unannounced and still do poorly, you can still say, “well guys I hit the strip, didn’t do very well but learned a lot. Here are my slips and I’d like to know what you guys think I should work on.”

That isn’t hiding anything but you won’t build up a bunch of anticipation for nothing.

I took my S4 to the track 3 times, probably 10 passes. Then I went one night, sorta last minute but amazing DA and ran one of the fastest NA times out there, techically the fastest B7S4 time with a handful of 12s passes. It felt way better to make that post rather than telling everyone I fell short.

I get that. Makes more sense to me now.

I don’t know him actually, local guy tho.

No problem with the 4.2, just haven’t heard of stage 3 from jhm, figured stage 2 is pretty much everything you could bolt on so it must be a bigger supercharger

This exactly! Thanks happy2b5. Saw your car on the lift today btw

I’m looking forward to just having a good time and seeing what my car can do, what I can do, and how much I can improve. If I start the day with a 13 second run followed by a 12 and then an 11.3, I’m still going to share everything because there will be no shame. I’m also not going there to do 1 or 2 runs. Jason is going to run the car first probably a couple times at least to see what the car is capable of. Then we can see what the driver mod is truly good for at the strip. I don’t expect to have a great first pass. In fact I’m pretty sure I’m going to completely fuck the tree the first time even though I’ve read how it works and have watched countless videos. Frankly, the more my times improve, the happier I’ll be. I hope my current shifting isn’t as good as it gets :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

At this point I’m over arguing with the thick headed B5 bitches. Doesn’t matter what happens, they’ll find a way to downplay it in their own little world so they can all high five and circle jerk each other while singing kumbaya.

“10.9 @ 132mph?!?!? You were using race gas and slicks.”

In fact, I’d rather not even wipe anything good in their faces because it will just add fuel to the fire and then the JHM and CV hate campaign will get worse.

But damn, I really wanted this signature.

“Worlds fastest B6 S4 which also happens to be faster than the world’s fastest soulless ginger customer driven bagged red RS4.”

You may actually be on to something there

On the lift is good

Still waiting for that ride! Phillip said it was “Super Fucking fast”, so now hes got me all amped

My mistake

mec is super cool that might have been my bad in the wording

Excited all around for all the v8 love.

Could somebody tell me where to buy black r13 lug nuts? I grabbed the 034 set because it was all I could find but they’re chrome. I worked so hard to rid my car of chrome and now there’s 5 chrome lug nuts per wheel fucking up the look. Thanks in advance.

Also, I think it’s actually harder to put the wheels on now with the studs in addition to adding another step to removing the rotors.

It seems ‘shallow’ to be private? Interesting. I think it’s just a matter of being private. Case in point, my B7 S4 did pretty well, however I never posted about it in advance. I just went about my business and when I had something interesting to share, I shared it. There had already been a bunch of B67 S4 guys who ran great times ahead of me on the forums so it wasn’t like I was going to do anything groundbreaking. I just shared what was relevant.

when there are legions of morons parading around the internet forums on a crusade against JHM for literally no discernable reason other than they got owned by people who own JHM parts, do you really need to make yourself canon fodder in the name of ‘life’? I think you’re taking internet forums a bit far.

Further, you haven’t been talking big numbers to legions of B5 owners on multiple internet forums and platforms…but MDUBZ has lol.

not sure really. From conversations I’ve had with JHM people, here’s what I think is accurate:

stage 1 RS4 is the supercharger with no cooling system, running super low boost (6 psi). Good for around 400-425 whp (YDMV) and high 11s @ 116-118.

stage 1+ is the above with an intercooler…and I think a marginally smaller pulley/more boost. Not sure what that is good for. When this was on Dan’s car, he trapped in the low 120s and ran mid-high 11s.

stage 2 RS4 was supposed to be 9 psi and be good for 500 whp, and around 125 mph of trap, low 11s if driven well. This level of boost has been determined to cause some problems for the RS4’s engine, so JHM is hesitant to make this available for widescale retail release. I think if you want this on a stock engine, you will need to sign a pile of waivers that are about as thick as a rural phonebook.

stage 3 Rs4 is presumably built motor RS4 + lots of boost on the same blower. This is currently running on Dan’s car right now (the built motor) at lower boost but they will move that along over the coming months. This will be retarded strong.

stage 4 RS4 is built motor + bigger supercharger. Think about that for a minute. The V3Si they are using for stage 1-3 is good for around 650 whp. But it’s not big enough for stage 4.

Those 3 and 4 cars…not sure how many people will actually buy that, but I do know that what we see on forums is basically a tiny sliver of the market (grand scheme of things). For example we know of what…5 JHM RS4 supercharged cars on all of the forums (SAR in UK, Denis, Badtoyz, couple of others)…well JHM sold 5 superchargers in the last month, and have sold a few dozen and we have no idea who those people are. They have sold a pile of built motors for the B67 S4 but we know of exactly 2 (mdubz and the wagon from norcal). So we’re not seeing anywhere near the big picture.

yes, you’re way off base. Mec is as sharp as a tack and is no troll. He just hadn’t heard of a stage 3 RS4 option yet and was curious.

Am going to try and make it but it will be tough. Basically a two+ hour drive for me during the worst time of day to get out there.

You could get the 034 ones powder coated if you want
