yeah, on the B8 is a bit of a coating after 50,000 miles, rather than the partial occlusion on the 4.2 and 3.2 FSI NA motors. Your SAI though is another story.
If you’re referring to Elite, they probaby have more experience cleaning 4.2 FSI carbon than Audi…so that’s good to have as a reference point.
Ryan, Blower has been off the car but I never cracked the case open… We took the rear TB off, elbow and bypass and I posted pics of all that… I have/had some other pics from INA Enginering in Canada who I was working with to try and source a larger TB… They had taken one a part which is a big reason I never went the porting route as it didn’t seem to frutiful based on the pics and the constraint the TB and inlet present… Sorry, if I ever alluded to anything other as it was a mistake if I did… I got no problem tearing the 1320 apart if I don’t sell it…
I will have a side by side of the SRM and the AWE this week. I measured the SRM at 57.25, Austin @GIAC told me the AWE is 57.15. No guessing after I measure it though, I will keep you updated. BTW, anyone want to buy an SRM pulley, cheap!!
i just went back and did my math, the srm is at 57.93 with my measuring tape, my stock pulley also measured larger using this method so i wouldnt be surprised if it was what you were told
all are so close i cant see it making a difference (except price)
Saxon, good to know… They are all close in size… Still wonder how much bigger the asp crank pulley is and what that does in relation to the blower pulley…
Look how flat the peak of the ribs are on the SRM pulley in that picture, jon made a pretty good point, I would have thought that’s something that would have been the same design from each. It may be closer in actual size to the APR pulley considering where the belt rides.
And everything also confirms our theory that the GIAC pulley was indeed smaller than APRs, even by a small amount it’s good to have the knowledge. Too bad we pretty much had to find out ourselves.
That’s where I’m confused. My understanding is that the EPL/AMS product is a simple Stage I tune relying on the stock pulley. Same as APR/GIAC in that regard. If that’s the case, is that the tune you’re getting?
Let me know if I’m off-base here. Just trying to clarify.
