my quest for the 12's

Your friend either sucks at driving,
Your heavily modded,
or your full of it…the new B8s are quick!!

I’ve went back and forth about upgrading, but they sound gay…I’m never gonna get rid of my B7, I’m keeping her just because she sounds amazing.

not heavily modded, just piggies, FI 2.5 catback and JHM 93 tune. I pulled on him everytime even when he took off ahead of me with my esp on the last run. He was in sport mode hammering it everytime, my car is 6mt. From 0-50/60 it would be pretty even depending on my launch, but he could never keep close after that.

^^^not so true dude…and you can’t suck at driving a DSG.

Check my post above…I’ve done all the pulls you could want to do with B8 S4s while I owned a nicely modified (certainly far from ‘heavily’…I spent $3000) B7 S4 and as I said could beat a stock DSG and was even with a well driven stock manual.

Yeah, I didn’t understand they are all DSG’s, I thought that meant something special because on the B8 forums everybody puts DSG in their sig along with features such as ADS or sport differential so I assumed it was an updgraded trans.

Anyway, you really need the catback, piggies, and tune, but that will beat a completely stock B8 as i can attest. I actually thought I would lose bc I rode in it first and it was fast as hell. All the B8 requires is a little tune and it would probably dominate me though.

I was referring to euroswagr…just in case that wasn’t clear. You snuck a post in while I was composing it

watch our for MT6 B8 S4s though…they’re about 1.5 car lengths faster than a DSG if the MT driver is sharp.

Interesting stuff

I was more or less stating that running a B8 down and putting 3-4 lengths on them to 110-120 sounds like an exaggeration, and I was curious about the mods of nicotino15. As a B7 guy, we all deep down inside hate that they got a supercharger, and can be made very fast, very quick.

probably exaggerated a little bit, on the last run I did put at least 2-4 car lengths on him up top (not sure if/when he let off once we were over 100, but he wasn’t really falling back super fast, and he told me he just couldn’t keep up when we got home), but I said that because off the line I bogged since I had just turned traction control back on, tried to use LA, and the ESP did not like it at all.

So when I say he took off, he did, but it was only a split second before my car recovered and he was maybe a car length ahead of me off the line. So not really a hunted him down from way behind and surpassed him by 4 car lengths, but it was quite obvious my car was quicker to my surprise. Seems like Audi underrates those cars at only 335 hp. I’m guessing with the tune and exhaust I have to be at 360-370 crank hp, at least I hope.

Audi rated them at 333, and they did underrate them. I’m pretty sure B8s are putting down over 300 on dynos stock.

I think your crank hp assumption is a good guess

Nicotino, why don’t you run him again, take video and post it up in the VS thread? Would be fun to watch.

I wish I would have. I never see any other S4’s here in Texas, and this one was a loaner for the weekend for a next door neighbor who drives an A4 and was getting service done. I asked him if he wanted to take them out for some fun the night before he had to take it back that next early morning. My GF would not go with me, lol, she hates being with me when I’m playing around in my car.

I’m going to texas moterplex in Ennis Tx on May 11th as long as I don’t have to travel for work, and I will be going with the North Texas audi group so I’m hoping there will be a nice turnout and my GF will be coming and I will take pictures and video for sure. It is a very busy high profile strip though, so I’m just worried I won’t get more than a couple runs in, they only have test and tune open to everybody like 1 or 2 Friday’s a month.

Hey whats the oil press. At idle? Cause if my gauge is right im reading over 100 psi at idle

Hmm, not sure off the top of my head. I can check once I get home.

Edit: Update - I don’t have the pressure at idle, but it should be at least 29 psi @ 2000 rpms, 50.8 psi @ 3500 rpms, and no more than 58 psi when above idle. What size line are you running to the gauge?

Its electric im getting elbow to make it fit right due to thread pitch and space then puting it all togther again. Thank you

Ahh, ok. YW. Hope the elbow works out.

Opps I replied in the wring thread about this

Spped thank you so my gauge is deffinatly hooked up wrong

Ok so I got the gauge installed. It works flawlessly but my oil press. Is around 65psi at idle. And raises from there. So yeah

ryan any updates. I get 45 at iddle. Depends on oil temps and oil tho

would auto vs manual matter? the auto would be loaded up a bit more at idle

Was all the mods you have listed in your sig on your car when you went 12.83? Congrats on the run. For my 12.89 i was still on stock clutch, just piggie pipes and heavy wheels like you. I think my wheels might weigh more then yours though. They are around 55lbs each corner. It is good to see another NA s4 into the 12s, keep up the good work on getting even better times.
