Can’t really compare the two. We’re blocking a reference to a site that perpetuates fraud and theft, whereas AZ is blocking references to a forum that stands for facts and truth.
I get what you’re saying, but I just don’t think it’s an apt comparison.
Why don’t you guys start another thread about it? Maybe you’ll learn something. This was a decision by someone who also made the decision to make this a site controlled by the members and doesn’t allow “paid for” forum advertising and sponsors.
Some of you may agree with the website and find members there helpful, but the negative aspect are the thieves. Not everyone is a hobbyist learning to tune their own car. Many are looking for tune copies to tweak and redistribute as their own for profit. Sure you can say shit like that happens anywhere, but it is one thing the owner of this private website disagrees with.
It also breads people like BritishTurbo (Lee) who act like a helpful individual at first, but eventually turn into a person who has swindled thousands of dollars from people.

Well, it is apt. The reasons can be debated and are valid but censorship is censorship imo. I guess even the most free flowing information forums have their limits and ideals, which i dont disagree with and subscribe to anyway.
I’m not disrupted enough to make a new thread, I was just speculating, AZ has people like flying tomatoes and certain tuning sites have people like britsihturbo. Different to their own degrees but people who do more harm than good. It just caught me because I remember Sakimano mentioning how AZ is afraid of a 1000 man site and so they block their links, and then i see the censorship here and well its not what i expected…just something that caught my eye. Anyway carry on with the APR conversation.
I agree with the suggestion to start a new thread on the N E F stuff. Perhaps the guys who’ve been here the longest can help explain what the deal is on this.
Might have wanted to start here as i was simply trying to help answer a couple members questions as to why their posts seemed a bit odd…hindsight, should have just sent pm
