Ironically, APR is one of the companies that the N E F censorship was designed to protect. It is well known that N E F is ripping off multiple companies’ tunes. It’s a philosophical clash that the members at the time were unwilling to tolerate.
However, I believe this forum is user led so if there was a big uprising for uncensoring this then I’m sure the forum admins would listen. Although I fully expect the current AR membership to stick with the status quo.

Blocking a site that was created for stealing tunes hardly fucking compares to blocking a site you’re scared of because it threatens to expose your advertisers for (ironically) defrauding customers.
Want a reality check? This is a private site. The guy who owns it is friends with someone who makes a living writing ecu tunes. So a while back when British fraudster, jfonz /jconz/jfraud and some other B5 guys were posting here referencing theftmoto, the site owner said ‘fuck it’ and blocked it.
What does Anthony disagree with here on AR? Nothing. He just wants to help protect his advertisers how are getting destroyed here. Since he can’t delete posts on az without getting crucified he tried what he could to stem the flow of traffic over here.
If anyone disagrees with this site blocking theftmoto, and it irks you to the point you don’t post here I reckon you like tune theft. Thus I reckon you won’t likely be here long anyway.
It wasn’t created to steal tunes, it’s a byproduct of having certain members on there. I understand you guys aren’t huge fans, but you are also generalizing the site by saying Britishturbo is a byproduct of the site. If the guy is a scumbag then he is a scumbag, no website is going to change that.
I’m also not arguing the rules I was just shocked that there is censorship here, this has always seemed like an “everything goes” kinda website.

…that may not have been the intent but it turned into a cease pool for unprotected tuners to get there tunes stolen. Who remembers the whole Chris Tapp / Eurodyne party? I certainly do.
Poor Chris had to watch his hard work stolen out from under him and he was actually scolded for even trying to defend himself.
p.s. Saki , has the Lee Johnson amount reached 100K now? Last I checked from people I knew it was around 60K.
I am not sure about your version of the history of that site. I also don’t think it matters because everyone else seems to know it is a tune theft site. Guys go on to ‘help’ each other with their tunes. Sure. They’re recycling code that was ‘reverse engineered’ (copied) from professionally written files that were stolen and shared illegally. Nobody denies that about it. Just you. Hell, jconz got berated here for selling stolen code that he openly admitted he got there. This is old news.
And again this isn’t the anything goes site. This is the no advertisers site. Big difference. It’s a privately owned, and privately run site and what the site owner says goes, not what criminals want . Fortunately he yields to us members on most stuff. I get that you’re trying to be Mr Rights, but it won’t work and you look like you’re supporting theft.

You always seem to jump to a strong defensive position. As I had stated earlier, I wasn’t even in favor of making a thread for this, much less to run a poll.
Now I never said that I would support stealing, but i’ll reiterate that you are attributing one bad batch of apples to the whole grove.
Are there people who abuse the resources and steal code? Yep you bet. but those people are everywhere.
Audizine has them, they are the ones who offer horrid quality parts for high prices, the people who make sales based on fraud, the list goes on and on.
Ebay has those people, people who abuse the safety policies put in place to protect buyer and they are used all the time to win on all ends against a seller. People who commit to buy something then leave, or people who buy something, claim its not as stated, and keep the product and get a refund.
I mean the same could be said about tax forums, people go on there to find out how to basically avoid paying taxes entirely, are we going to call them tax pirates? Of course those tax forums also have great resources and information for the guy who is filing his own taxes for the first time, or for the family that just had their first born and is looking for what the rules call for.
The world is full of people who scam for a living, But you can’t say the whole world only has scam artists, there are good people everywhere too.
As far as N-moto known as purely a site for stealing tunes…well I am pretty sure this is the only place that I have heard that.
I’m not saying I steal code, or that I support the actions of those people who abuse the resources available on that site, but I’ve definitely been helped there previously, there are good people over there, who have helped at no cost expecting nothing in return, just out of the joy of helping another enthusiast. That’s what makes a warm community.

Karma bump for you sir. When I was looking for answers to why no moto. I was sent a link to that very thread. It was painful and appalling all at the same time.
Yeah that thread was vicious. I assume you’re talking about the one where Chris comes in and asks Tony (site owner) if he believes its ok to be stealing Chris’s hard work, And Tony responds “Its gonna be stolen at some point, better it be stolen here and available for free than stolen and sold elsewhere”
Yeah that is an excellent example of the dickheads that are over there, but it is also a poor representation of the overall population.
I’d concede that you’d know more then I. However that was the site owner that allowed that to happen. To make matters worse the head moderator is active in stealing APR tunes and handing them out. There’s open threads on how to read off your chipped ECU amongst a mist of other people working off what appears to be the stolen work of others. Sure there’s going to be many honest people looking to advance their own way. I don’t know that the foundation and the attitude of what is and what isn’t stealing is strong enough to consider the overall population honest.
that is the smallest of crimes that that head moderator has committed. He also happens to be the man behind the mask at sprint auto works. Tuning all sorts cars. Custom tunes…for stock cars…people eat it up…insert face palm.
