New Android Dynavin installed. Wow!

I do, with my blackberry.

Nope, all of those keyboards suck. They’re all too wide.

When was the last time you used a blackberry? My Bold 9700 never needed battery pulls. My Bold 9900 (the one that just got stolen) has never needed one either. It’s a touch screen phone and I’ve never been limited from a technology stand-point. It’s even got the mobile hotspot, something that was lacking in earlier blackberry models.

fixed that for you

I need someone to steal mine so I can grab a Samsung Note!

that’s not accurate. I have a blackberry Torch and it has been fantastic frankly. I wish something would go wrong so I could get a new one under warranty, sell it as new in box, then buy a Samsung Note. Nothing against blackberry though.

Your experience with your blackberry is certainly not worthy of condemning the entire platform. Further, if we are going to use terribly small statistical pools to come up with a verdict on a phone, we could say that my experience and Axel’s experience as two satisfied users far outweigh your single user experience.

Looks good Axel. Sorry bout the bad luck…again :-\

Are there any pluses to getting an Android phone since your Dynavin is Android equipped? Maybe some other cool synching features?

I owned 2 blackberry curves, blackberry bold, blackberry storm, blackberry storm 2.

All 5 required battery pulls at most every 2 days. If not apps would hang or simply not load OR shut down.

I realise im only 1 person but with 5 BB phones from 2008-2010, i have owned more blackberries than the “standard” consumer.

Been keeping an eye out for a galaxy NOTE for you though. few sites i visit often have sales on phones. Seen the galaxy 2 come up twice now but no NOTE yet.

I dunno how you figured that up. . . I mean CAD is basically monopoly money since it’s not even a real place.

psshhh newbs

They’re making it plastic, making it real toy money.

sounds like YOU are the problem…not the phone lol.

Didin’t you also have all kinds of problems with the iPhone?

never a problem with 3 iphones.

Just didnt like being forced to use itunes to load music / video’s + no flash.

As sakimano pointed out, the sample size is a little too small. I’ve owned 6 different blackberry models throughout the years (kept getting a new one with new jobs and add my own ones on top of that) and I’ve never had any issues with any of them. Not one. Then you have my buddy who’s on his third iphone because they kept overheating and then dying.

I think you wanted your bb to be like an iphone and installed too many crap apps. It’s the same with my non computer savvy friends. Whenever they complain their computer is acting up and ask me to look at it, I notice it’s full of crap software.

No clue. I don’t have an Android phone. I don’t really think it would make much of a difference. What are you going to sync? Already the phone app pulls all of my BB contacts via bluetooth like the RNS-E. Maybe a calendar sharing app but the Android side uses my google account so I already have that. There’s probably something I’m not thinking off and that means I don’t need it lol

good point…the apps were the killers on the bb

i owned all my blackberries first so i never got into the app thing until the iphone. Come to think of it bb app world didnt even exist until i was on my 3rd BB.

As for a blackberry being full of “crap apps” Why have apps at all if the “crap phone” cant run them?

Just another sign that blackberry is really the lesser product of all mobile devices.

Dont get me wrong… its not a bad thing per say, its like saying between Audi, BMW and Mercedes, the Benz is the lesser product of those 3 car companies. Still a great car, just not as good as the other 2.

My iphone 4 (which i still use as an ipod) is LOADED! it has 22 gigs of music and 9 gigs of apps. Never crashes, runs like the day i bought it.

My Android is the same way. I constantly have to delete older apps / music / movies to add new ones since the 32 gigs of space is loaded, but it still runs fast and stable.

I guess in the end if all you do with your phone is text and read emails… blackberry is the perfect product for that since there is no risk of you exploiting more than 10% of what the phone is capable of and you will never have it take a shit in your hands when you try to do as much as RIM says it CAN do… but CANT.

For me, my phone is my portable entertainment center. Music, Movies, games, apps, email, camera, hotspot… it does it all, and does it reliably and well.

Again, talk to my friend who keeps having to return his iphone cause he can fry an egg on it (and then ends up burning itself to death.)
Tell me something I can’t do on my BB that you can do on your iphone or Android other than using some teeny bopper apps that I’d never download even if I had an iphone or Android.

The only apps I download are:

Weather Network
Flixster
Couple games like Freecell, Word Mole, Bejewelled (i.e. short games to pass the time when waiting in line)
Google Maps
Youtube Player
And maybe one or two others I can’t think off right now and I can’t check cause I don’t have a phone

That’s about all I need for apps.

So, what can you do with your iPhone or Android that I can’t?

Your friend most likely has some badass otter box type case that causes his phone to overheat.
Sure you cane use it as a baseball once its in this case, but put even a blackberry in this type of case and it will get hot.

What is your definition of teeny bopper app? Cause bejeweled would be part of mine! :stuck_out_tongue:

There are MILLIONS of apps of all types on the android market. Barely 5000 on balckberry world. There are as many FUN games that you can “play in line” on android then all apps combined on balckberry.

Here goes…

Why carry DSLR’s / Video recorders when your phone can :

Take HD pictures (normal AND panoramic) / 1080p video

Blackberry

Who needs a cable box, DVD / Blu-ray players or MP3 players, CD players ect… when:

I can connect my phone to any TV or home theatre equipped with HDMI and play any type of media through it. Music , movies, youtube, netflix and LIVE television.

I can do all of the previous wirelessly with any samsung TV’s

Still useing USB memory sticks for work / home?

I can use my phone as a USB stick. Just plug and copy any files / media from home to work.

Finally this one isnt for everyone, but still something a blackberry cant do

i can play ALL Nintendo, Super nintendo, sega, genesis, N64, gameboy, PSP games on my phone, should i feel nostalgic.

And before you tell me you dont need a phone to take pictures cause you have a “real” camera, you have a dvd player for movies, you have a ton of memroy sticks… i do too.

However when i want to take ALL of that with me on an impromtu trip, Everything i mentioned fits in my pocket and weights only 132 grams.

edit

 1. Forgot to mention Andoid has actual GPS connection on not that cell tower triangulation crap.

That combined with google maps navigation (free) makes android phones a great GPS.

 1. Android also has voice to text integrated in the phone. You dont like virtual keyboards? Why type at all??? Just talk! You can use this fucntion to send text messages, search on google, or make calls ect…

 2. Voice mail and even visual voice mail is so outdated! ;D My phone transferes voice messages to text messages. No more pressing 1 to listen to new messages, 2 to skip message ect…

I think you’re missing the point bora. He’s saying he doesn’t give a fuck about playing with his phone, watching tv, taking video etc. He needs a business device and an email device…and to that end, the blackberry murders the iphones and android touchscreen only phones.

Anytime you want to have a typing contest, let me know. I’ll crush you with my torch.

p.s. way to take his terrible photo of his radio to compare to your favourite ever pic that has come out of your phone.

Here…my car pic kills your car pic. BlackBerry Torch. Owned.
25.94 seconds. That’s how much time it took Melissa Thompson of Salford, England, to type a complex sentence on a Samsung Galaxy S, which makes her the new Guinness World Record holder for fastest typing on a phone.
Let me know when you or anyone around the globe breaks the world record for texting on a blackberry device. Owned.

That picture looks GREAT in 600 x 400…

Lets have a look at the original in full screen on a 52 inch tv? Mine will look the same, how about yours? Owned x2

I get that he said he doesnt give a shit about apps (even if he said he cant wait to play with all the cool apps on his new unit) And thats fine.

The debate was “blackberry’s are as good as any other phone out there”

NO they arent. What do you need for a buisness device? The ability to make phone calls and email?

Both phones make calls … check
Both phones have email… check.

So where is blackberry CRUSHING exactly?

The ONE advantage blackberry has is the way it can receive emails INSTANTLY.

With iphone and android, unless you hit refresh the devices will fetch emails every 15 minutes. HARDLY a handicap worth the term “crushing”

saying a blackberry is is the same or is as good as an android device is like a passat 2.0T owner claiming he has an audi since it has the same engine and is a VAG product.

Again those phones might be all you need and thats fine, but please dont compare those bricks to top of the line technology phones like Galaxy phones or iphones!

p.s. Buisness on LTE fast networks > buisness on 2g phones

LTE huh? not when you live in Barrie. PWNT!

my photo is 5 million pixels. What is yours, 6 or 8? No real difference on a 1 megapixel HDTV I’m afraid. Do your homework bora!
