new clutch setup that looks promising

That’s kind of what I was referring to…the strat intake, APR CPS, 034 testpipes. Easy for AWE to say no to that as it introduces variables they don’t want there.

For example, last night your car in fourth was bogging a bit. Imagine it bogged on the dyno while AWE was trying to sell a pulley to everyone. A bit risky for them.

Had a thought… LOL Maybe have Pete and the other test car down on the same day and dyno them both… Would make Pete happy and would somewhat shoe the effects of the test pipes and CPS(not that a dyno # means anything) Again, just a thought…

Have them race instead. At ATCO.

Ask Arin if he wants his CPS or ask 034 if they want their testpipes to be ‘evaluated’ by AWE…on the AWE dyno. If you want a preview of their answer, I will give it to you and save you PMing those guys

My only question…you’ll try to send the shop car to ATCO or E-town next time we hit it en masse…? you gotta, gotta. Stage II was already prowling around end of Feb last year when we went.

I can’t speak for 034, but I think Arin would say “go ahead”…

I agree the race is more desired but it is winter and I don’t think ATCO is open… Who cares what APR/034 wants, they sold parts to a customer so he can do what he wants with them… I didn’t say this would be an all telling test nor would the strip be as the driver variable with a 6-speed car is pretty big as you are quite aware… Just trying to make both parties happy… Besides if the car has an issue they would know then and could get GIAC working on it vs releasing it and having to fix issues after the fact…

We kind of “wimped out” on that last Atco event for a few reasons:

The pulley kit was still under development, far from optimized.

Our S4 was a 6 speed, not optimal for drag race showdowns against S-Tronic cars (our new S5 is S-Tronic through, watch out :D).

Our S4 was wearing rather heavy 20" street wheels, and the big brake kit made swapping on lighter, smaller wheels impractical (our new S5 is wearing some nice light street wheels).

All in all, we just saw a lot of downside going head to head at that event with cars better equipped for the qtr mile. I promise we’ll try to do better joining up with you guys at the strip in 2013.

So AWE says it’s ready for release and you say it’s not perfected… I really wish someone just gave us a straight answer.

I had really hoped the pulley would of been ready like yesterday. I’ve been wanting to go stage 2 ever since I first met with tsiv and pete and have been waiting and waiting to flash my car since. I’m thinking now more than ever about just going APR 2+ because i’m finally bored with my stock car. :-\

I’m not necessarily buying the 6MT’s are slower per se vs DSG’s. Look at the stock chart:

2 of the top 3 are 6MT. However, it seems that there aren’t any good clutch options for the 6MT guys - what say you for those who like to row their own gears?

And do we really only have 1fasts4 as the lone GIAC tuned motor going down the 1/4?

Ya thats what I have always said. When I had just a Revo stage 1 and nothing else, I would race my DSG friend all the time and from a roll we were either even or I was a tiny bit faster. We raced from a Dig once while I had a stock clutch, he used launch control and I launched the shit out of my car and I was a half car ahead of him very quickly. He has since crashed his car and has a 2013 S4 with headers exhaust and every mod available besides software.

Also Todd any word from 1fastS4? He wanted to race my car I have PM’d him a couple of times to setup a race and he doesn’t repsond??

wait he ran like stock in vegas? I met up with him in vegas, he said he was running 12 flats all morning on stage 1. He told me he was trying to break into the 11’s and he knew his car had it in it but he just couldn’t secure it.

He ran low twelves at Sacramento. They drove there from Vegas and socal because it’s a great track for going fast.

Then he ran at the strip at Vegas a week or two later (Las Vegas motor sports park I think it’s called) and went high 12s at something unremarkable.

Ignore the excuses about the time and the BMW being 650whp. That particular BMW is famous for running twelves and claiming monster dyno numbers. 650whp…@125 lol.

No misunderstanding. I was in Vegas for wustefest last year, you can look it up if you want to compare dates. We were partying later on at night, I was talking to him he said he wanted to be the first stage 1 car to get into the 11’s on pump. He said he had been running that morning. Again look up the dates and see if you can find a correlation.

Also when I saw him in San Diego a couple of months ago, he was running stage 2 he said he dynoed 420whp on pump. That’s when he offered up a race on pump gas and I declined because I had been drinking and, I wanted to race on race gas so it was fair. He said to hit him up but he’s been MIA. I offered an alternate race on the spot against my buddy’s B8 with nitrous but that didn’t happen. I wouldn’t blame him though I wouldn’t take that race either.

Don’t worry wait till 1fasts4 posts up some ubsurd dyno numbers on 108 octane and some 11 second 1/4 mile and makes believes he’s pump till someone calls him out… Then he will disappear for 6 months lol
