Hey everyone, my names Mo, and I recently bought my first car from an auto auction. It’s a 2005 Audi a4 cabriolet, 3.0 Quattro with a PES G3 supercharger. It had one owner before me, and I got it with just under 80,000 miles on it, for a pretty good deal. I recently got everything checked out, replaced the brakes and some other stuff and now it’s fully running. I did fail my inspection due to an intake leak from the supercharger, but that should be cleared up soon. I’m in love with the car and how it drives. Red interior has been a personal hope for me in a car and I couldn’t believe it when I saw this bad boy at the auction, so I jumped on it. I’ll have better pictures soon. Any advice or comments are welcome.

Nah I just didn’t have plates on it at the time of the picture. Indeed a mass plate, born and raised.

I’m really disappointed here, I got these new wheels as a gift and I personally like them, and my friends seem to think they look great as well, but some people on another forum are saying negative things, are these wheels that bad?

Wheels, they are what they are. All that matters is You like them.

Is it on coil overs? The back wheel gap looks good but the front wheel gap is too much.

Welcome don’t worry about the other forums. Generally its filled with kids that have no idea but they talk like they do. I don’t love the rims but I don’t think it ruins the car either.

A few things.

1 PES is not a good company. You will find this out quick. They are nice if people are giving them money but the PES blower kit is known for being the worst on the market. Lucky for you the 3.0 wasn’t the biggest hp motor.

2 check to make sure your PES kit wasnt leaking from the inter cooler. The PES intercooler kits have been known to leak and take out motors.

3 find out ASAP what tune you have in the car. If its a PES get it off the car ASAP. I personally would contact JHM they are the kings of the 3.0 and just about everyother NA car. I’m sure they can help ya.

4 All the members here are very knowledgable and very happy to support a fellow member. Scam artists hate this site real deal car guys love it.

5 your car looks sweet. I would just be careful. Looks like you picked up a gem but the last owner might have gotten rid of it due to issues with the PES kit. I’m not saying you have to or should get rid of the kit. Just might want to make sure you have someone helpful check to make sure its ok and Like I said contact JHM to make sure the car is running good in the tune but safe for the life of the car.

Thanks for that, honestly. I like the rims, I don’t LOVE them, but they were a gift and I can’t really do anything about them. The negativity was just making the situation so much worse. I’ll call jhm tomorrow and see what they have to say. How can I find out what tune have? My friend who’s an Audi/VW mechanic fixed up a few hitches in it and says that it runs beautifully and finds no problems in it what so ever, but I can only take that with a grain of slag for now. I’m very much so a “noob” in terms of audis, and well frankly :confused: cars in general. I’m going to take a guess that NA means naturally aspirated? The other forum was Audizine but I won’t be getting into that, although I don’t get a lot of replies on here I’ll be making a full switch go AR because the users are a lot more friendly and helpful, thank you guys.

The AR speed of people isn’t as large but on AZ your in 1.8T land so its a bunch of 16-20somthings that think they know everything. AZ is a collection of mostly odd people trying to sell crap products or stolen stuff.

AR has all the collection of very knowledgeable guys. It tends to scare off the larger packs of kids just looking to ramble on. AR is more adult.

As for the tune. There is almost no way to know. keep in mind your car could be running a FAT FAT FAR off fuel raito and the car would seem fine and seem to run ok. Not only that but depending the tune could have turned off all the warrning lights so you would never know if there was an issue.

Awesome car, very cool! Don’t sweat the wheels. I think they look fine, you gotta have thick skin with online forums. I guarantee you 99.9% of people who say they suck would never say it to your face anways lol.

As for the PES, your car is probably pretty darn fast for a 3.0 lol. It’s just that the company has been documented many times for having failures with their tunes and kits. There’s a member on here who didn’t have any problems though. Just get it all checked out. Ride looks sweet though, love the red interior must be a great summer car. ;D

nice, same here (worcester area)

the red interior looks real nice in the more recent photos. one thing to consider if you don’t often have backseat passengers is removing the rear headrests. A guy with an S4 Cab. on AZ posted some pictures of his car sans rear headrests recently and it looks much much cleaner.

personally the wheels aren’t my taste, but if you like how they look thats all that matters.
