New mod and drag

I own an RS4 JHM SC and i was getting all those codes so i went to brazil for vacation n left my car there , they took care of it, i was the same codes u having, so they retune my car and fix some bugs on the tune and also my MAF was not very good so they fix that too! Car running smooth now!

Summary:

  1. Have codes
  2. Go to Brazil
  3. Profit!

I didn’t realize this car was Superchaged…
Saki didn’t you have JHM tune, downpipes and go 12’s in your V8 S4…

Supercharged in terrible conditions should still be 12.3-12.5@ 111-114

I went 12.99@107 in great DA. He had shit DA. He also only ran the 1/8 and we assumed his progression would be linear, however the centrifugal supercharger lives at the top end, so he’d beit from the second half of the track being spent entirely WOT pushing through the RPMs in fourth.

JHM protects the heck out of the car in the heat with that blower. You may recall the BHF engine isn’t exactly a stalwart for handling adversity.

Supercharged in terrible conditions can be just about anything. IAT protection is pretty aggressive. IT’s not intercooled remember.

Saki nailed it. Our motors are made out of paper so JHM goes heavy on the protection. Having a bad MAF kills the cars power if your JHM NA. Also like Dali said JHM limits the WOT condition and starts closing the throttle around 6k. So you need 3rd gear to make up time on the second half of the track.

Lastly and I know this sounds like a lame b5 excuse. But with headers any JHM S4 header guy will tell you. You need to learn how to drive the car again on the launch. You will spin hard. But its not right away the headers have just enough power delaywhere you get moving and then the tq comes in after you thinking its ok . So you get out several feet then spin. It can be very hard to manage.

With the bad MAF issue CV said he was in safe mode. That alone would explain any lack of performance.

Okay, I just have found that it takes a lot of cool down to get the best out of these cars.

For having that code, the terrible weather, and spinning so bad the first 60 feet I would say that those times are not that bad. As justincredible said it takes practice to drive these cars correctly.

I have the same Bosch 3 prong spark plugs from JHM. They are the heat range 6 for 1.8-2.0-2.7 plugs. Every one that I have gotten wasn’t gapped correctly.

What did u gap them at?
I may just take the s4 up to JHM to fix everything when I get some funds coming through.

I get that maf sensor code with highway speeds.
Really weird. I happens when I’m Just when I’m cruising.

I have noticed that my gauge unit mass air flow sensor reading will blip to 52 grams per second when I let off the gas. I am wondering if it is just a slow response from the unit.

Once you get a MAF code tho. These cars go right into limp mode. Limp mode with a JHM supercharger is still faster then most cars so its not as obvious.

Finally sent my car to JHM to have them look into fixing my issue with the MAF code. Turns out it was a faulty throttle body. I tried everything I could before sending it up there but couldn’t figure it out. Thanks again to JHM, they truly are the experts in this platform and give great customer service every time.

Its great to read posts like this. It is great to know for all the support JHM gets from all of us that they give it right back. How is the car running other then that.

It’s still at JHM. I have to go pick it up

Damn haven’t heard from you in a while. Glad that you got it sorted out. So when’s is the next strip attack ;D

It’s been a while since I’ve dealt with the issue. as soon as it starts cooling down and my buddies want to go, I’ll be going to the track.
Also I got the Audi some new shoes. Rpf1 18x8 wrapped with federal RSRs. Those federal are hot right now.

The good news is hearing it was a throttle body issue that is going to cost the car some power. So it would be interesting to hear how the car runs when you get it back

I will be giving a call to JHM on Monday before I take a trip up there to make sure it is running how it’s supposed to.

Those wheels are awesome!

Your car looks great. Like mine but so much cleaner and better paint. Good luck!

Yes they are.

So an 8.4 in the 8th mile is about 13sec I’m the quarter mile?

I’ve got several 1/8th mile tracks around but to go to the quarter mile I have to drive about 3 hours each way. I’m thinking of hitting the 8th mile a few times until the temps go down
