I know I’m late to the party, but congrats, Brandon!
I’m sure it feels great to scratch that years-long itch. Enjoy!

Thank you!!
I’ve got the R2’s on my S4 in 18’s for winter duty. Highly recommend them. Also recommend Michelin X-Ice but I do like the R2’s more.
^^ Noted. I will do what beem suggests and start sending out emails for price quotes. Still deciding whether to buy a new set of OEMs for the winter or just mounting the winters on my current wheels.
Brief update . . .
A set of used OEM 19" wheels are on their way for winter tire purposes. I will be going with the Nokian R2 tires (currently working with Discount Tire - will be ~ $330/tire). Really appreciate beem and sak’s recommendation in this regard. Given the RWD, I’ll need all the help I can get lol.
Also, Lexus has a pretty neat app that allows the owner to view the entire service history of the vehicle. I checked it out last night, and it appears that my car (which was owned primarily by someone in the Miami area) was regularly maintained, and the only issue was a service campaign that addressed a potential issue with the gas pedal. Other than that, just oil and brake changes, and the battery was replaced about a month or so before my purchase (probably for CPO purposes).
Still extremely happy with it, and again, I cannot get enough of the V8. It’s pretty awesome.
I just pulled up all the service campaigns for the '09 IS F. Here is your list:
9LG - Potential Floor Mat Interference with Accelerator Pedal
-This was fixed with new hooks in the floor mats, not a big issue
DLA - Front Wiper Arm Nut
-Literally a new nut for the wiper arms.
DLB - Internal Trunk Release Lever
-Literally a new plastic neon color pull lever
LSC ELE - Engine Cooling Fans
- Usually they replace the fan motor screws, drain o ring, and vent plug o-ring. On certain occassions, they will replace the cooling fan assembly all together. The tech has to diagnose which way to fix it.
ELF - Potential Fuel Pressure Sensor Leak
- We do a shit ton of these, make sure it gets done. They replace a bunch of gaskets since they are removing the intake manifold etc, use a small sanding puck to clean the area where it may leak, and replace the gasket that is prone to leak
I can e-mail you all of the dealer letters and tech instructions if you’d like
^^ PM sent. Thanks!
Glad to hear you found a option for the nokians
Late to the party as well, didn’t even see your issue with the rear diff until seeing this thread. That really sucks about the Audi, but glad you got out of it and found what seems to be a great car. Wish ya the best with it and look forward to hearing more about it. They are pretty rare as you mentioned so you don’t hear a ton about them.
That’s really cool about the service history. I don’t get why that isn’t more common. When I bout my Porsche, I even called the dealership it had spent it’s entire life at, and they said they couldn’t release any information due it being under the previous owners name. I get there’s a level of privacy there, or a matter of whether the seller was honest, but I just want to make sure things have been done and if not then I want to do them myself to make it right. Just weird how service history isn’t considered part of the car’s history vs part of the owner’s personal privacy.
nice one aroderick. Great to have your help for members.
Ya the app is pretty cool. It provides service history all the way back to the date of purchase. There is no previous owner identification, though, so that addresses the privacy issues. And obviously, any work done on the car at a non-Lexus shop would not be included in the app. That said, I’m fairly confident most if not all maintenance work was done at Lexus dealerships, as the history is quite detailed. Neat stuff.
Nokian R2 winters ordered today through Discount Tire (apparently very limited quantity), and my OEM wheels were delivered this week. Shld be set heading into the horrific winter months.
How is the IS F treating you? Saw one come in today and reminded me of yours
Clochner is a ghost. Haven’t seen any updates.
The ISF is treating me well!! Thnx for checking in. I really do love the car. Not surprisingly, it isn’t the greatest in the snow (even with the Nokian R2 winter tires), but it’s not as bad as I originally thought either. I’m still very happy with the decision I made to trade in the S4 - I like the F even more now than when I bought it.
I have been a ghost lol
I’ve had the ISF for about a year now, and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Only issue so far was replacing the right strut under warranty (about a $500 repair). Beautiful night in Chicagoland - thought I’d snap a pic:
