Oddly my phone gets more charge on the 15 minute drive to work than an hour using the included wall charger. Full charges take probably around 4 hours using the wall charger and even more of it’s plugged into a computer.
that’s pretty slow. the new Samsung Note phones charge super fast. I believe bangoman and mistro both have a note 4, so maybe they can chime in. Something like 15% for a 50% charge…
I don’t know if the iPhone 6+ has a different charger. But the regular one I have is 1 amp - which isn’t much more than a Computer USB 3.0 port outputs.
Getting a peak charger like the one I linked speeds it up since it charges the battery as fast as it can (adjusting the amps) up to it’s limit.
Like my Microsoft Band takes the same time to charge on it like it does on any other USB charger. My phones and tablets charge a lot quicker on that charger.
My Nexus 6 came with the Motorola Turbo Charger using Qualcomm’s 2.0 Quick Charge technology. It’s universal and will step down the voltage and current depending on the device applied. The current specs listed on the charger are:
On other technical literature I’ve read a max current of 3A with compatible devices.
I can get a full charge on my 3220 mAh battery in an hour and they indicate 8 hrs of battery life with 15 min of charging, but of course that doesn’t last with heavy use.
I’m pretty sure it’s the same charger that you have. Does the peak charger you listed have any downsides? E.g., damaging the battery in any way long-term.
Yeah it’s pretty impressive. I’ve certainly gone from 10% to 100% in about 90 mins. Google “qualcomm quick charge”. The first 50% takes only 30 mins. It’s a Note 4. You need a special charger and it is phone CPU dependent
The second battery charger was a bit of a waste of money!
The latter - as in remove battery and put it into a separate device for charging. I used it with great effect on my note 2 - I’d get about 30 hours so that meant either letting it run out or finding somewhere to charge it in the middle of the day. With the note 4 I need the phone “immobile” for much less time.
^^ Interesting. I’d reckon all the early adopters have already pre-ordered. So we’ll have to see what happens to the other potential buyers when the watch is readily available for in-store purchase. I think the two month delay resulting from part supplier issue is dampening sales a bit.
Looks like I had misinterpreted the timing. Early on I thought it was about an hour, but 15% to 100% is actually about 75 min. Not too much of a difference, but I don’t want to mislead anyone.
so you mean both…second battery and battery charger? i.e. first batt dies, pop in second batt (which is freshly charged) then leave first batt. in charger while you go about your business…then when second batt. dies, go grab first batt and repeat.
