Nitrous 4 the b5 best mod?

After reading not too long ago that the two of the b5 s4 records was acheved by the use of nitrous * 1 was aka the 10sec scam aritst used a 175shot on his gutted ko4 car to barely go 10’s claming he was all motor then the next and probably the most disturbing is a low rent shop AMD using nitrous to acheve better results to try and pimp there failed tial turbos * ill make my own post on that later

Still the thought comes to mind maybe with all the junk turbo gimmics out there for The b5. Maybe Nitrous is the best mod for the car… This would be couppled with a usfull turbo like a ko4 or a rs6

Let’s face it a ko4 or a Rs6 turbo b5 can be impressive for everyday driving and performance. A well tuned rs6 turbo car can do low 500whp but the most live I’m the mid to high 400 range. To jump from 450 to say 550 your going to need Gt turbos. Let’s face it the tials are a joke and not even a real option other then there cheap. Still even with a solid gt turbo your lag and real world power range gets shifted super high in the rpm range

That being said is a true notrous system the next best possible mod for The b5

Nitros would be good cause you get that nice low end tq and spool the turbos up reducing lag. The only problem would be a tq spike, but a set of rods would fix that.

Isn’t JHM working on a direct port nitros set up for the b5 after the success from the b6 application.

I have to ask why are the tials so bad, the 770 seem to be making good power. One of the quickest b5 60-130 is a tail car and makes 600+ aka burningcoals car.

I’m not sure if the burning cols car is the pretend customer fake car that has nitrous on it. But in actuality is the nitrous assisted amd car. So the only thing that makes the car fast from what I’ve been told is the nitrous. If he is someone different then my apology to him

Not only that but from what I’ve seen all the tial cars are jokes. Non of them are running less the 35lbs of boost and nome of them has shown to be anything less then a joke at the track. The 60-120 is the laughing stock of testing I’ve been in a tial car and take of from me there jokes the spool sucks and the power is weak. It’s like ridding in a 400whp 1.8t car … It’s crazy weak till 5500 then after the 1000rpm of spool till you get to the real power at 6800rpm for 500rpm then you have to shift

The only real proven turbos are the ko4 and rs6 turbos. The gt cars have shown to do ok.ish when a proper sized turbo is selected but even they suffer from lag issues.

For the money getting a rs6 turbo run less then 25lbs of boost and spray 100shot and your doing well.

Let’s face of the b5 dominated days are past. The b8 s4 is the new king and when the real supercharger kits come out for the rs4 they will be the monster car of the time

I don’t want to get too off topic. However I have to fully agree that the tial cars are a hoex.

I raced a no excuses tial b5 s4 with no boost leaks no issues. End result was a considerable joke and a dent in any real considerations for the tial turbo as far as good power. The tial car sat about 3 cars back most of the race and then at about 100+ mph I’d say he started to close the gap. While ill openly admit my JHM tune for my S5 has turned the car into a very impressive machine. One would have thought all the talk of the tial tales would have resulted in better results

After doing the twice the b5 guy wanted to start the next race in third gear at like
70mph. lol sure ::slight_smile: I thought he was joking turns out that was exactly what he wanted to do… The owner went on to tell le how fast his car is once he hits 70 or so… Am I the only one that sees that at a pethetic joke thinking that building a car for going fast after 70 is. Quality that I would specificly build

Are there any nitrous B5 cars out there? Prob not. I guess that’s boosted cars for you - all tuning efforts are directed at moar psi.

Hmm, didn’t realize tial cars were looked at like this. I have a friend with a b5s4 and tial 660s (I think) He put down 535whp and runs an easy 12.0 1/4 mile. Thought that was pretty solid! But yea, b8s4s are starting to dominate now for sure.

^what was his trap? I have skepticism about the tial cars because from what I’ve seen there are lots of great dynos but no great trap speeds. Some of the guys are concerned with breaking the car launching hard, which I understand, but as long as you have traction and can shift the trap speed should come

So these TIALS are that big of weak sauce eh? never knew they were sad turbos. The gt’s are great if you can rev past 8k and hit it with nitrous for the lower rpms to build boost and get off the line … speaking of, that poland guy is running those on his avant going 9’s right? is he using nitrous as well or all boost?

119? That’s garbage, early vast gt kits were trapping 130 plus. Those were real gt kits. Tials are eliminator garbage. The hardware is good but when you have a turbine housing no bigger than stock, do you really expect miracles?

If you want bone crushing acceleration, find a well sorted early vast gt car. You’ll piss yourself

So a 539whp b5 s4 traps slower then a 350whp b8 s4 with exhaust and a chip…and consiquently lower then most ko4 cars that don’t dyno more then 430whp. Even most low rent k04 cars trap mid 120’s

Meistah while I’m not attacking your friend so don’t think my calling his car a category of failed tial cars is personal. It just shows too many people bought into the hype and in the end they have a poor fitting lack luster turbo… I agree with 91gl gt kits while way laggy still have a good enough power output to get it done … Still you can knock out just as impressive times with the assistance of nitrous

Burningcoals car is a 3.0 stroker tial 770 with supporting mods and no n2o. The AMD car you speak of is this the new that is putting down something like 775whp?

Interesting stuff about the tials though, they seem to be able to make good power. I guess its about the area under the curve, but even when they put up dyno sheets they have good curves as well. I do remember reading that the trubine housing is close to stock, didnt really take much notice of it.

Whats the difference to RS4 KO4 and RS6 KO4’s? is just a slightly bigger trubine housing?

Lol I don’t take any of it personally. I was just throwing in my 2 cents from what I had seen myself. His 60ft wasn’t optimal as he did have a bit of traction issues on launch from what I recall.

Regardless, he has already moved to a 3.0 crank instead of 2.7 (I think im saying that right? lol) and will be replacing the tials. I think the power delivery from the tials on a 2.7 isn’t optimal for 1/4 mile racing anyways, more of a highway cruiser. This is all above my head as I don’t have very much FI experience with audi’s.

That being said, didn’t JHM’s b5s4 run 11.1 with K04’s?

See even your friend knows that 3.0L are the best Audi V6’s if he has to use our cranks lol

Yeah JHM’s car did run that and it was with RS6 Ko4’s

11.1 @ 130mph full interior, a/c, street tires etc. i know 10’s are around the corner on pure boost.

Jay’s is actually built now? I always wondered what happened. I know they did that record setting pass with the ko4’s on stock motor. And then I think a while later the turbo finally went so they were going full build, but never heard anything about what happened from there. I assumed they scrapped it to go into the B6/7 and let VAST have the B5 market. God I’d love to see JHM set a B5 time with a built motor. Might be enough to trade the B7 haha.

Has anyone else had any good runs with the nitrous? I mean these b5’s are like the next supra if you think about it, I still have not seen many people go crazy with the nitrous on these cars.
