Sure, will do. maybe… if I can get around to it. I posted it on AZ, so should be able to pull it over pretty easily. We just had a baby 6 wks ago, and I have a limited amount of time to spend doing non-family or work activities… plus I have to fix my sway bar and install stiffer rear springs…
I’m super close to buying V710 in 19" gunmetal, but waffling on these questions:
Should I get Forgestars? 8 week wait, complaints on paint quality and more $$
I can’t answer them all but from what I’ve read, stay away from Forgestars (I’ve read some nightmare stories like one guy waiting 6+ months for his and counting. Constant issues, failed quality control, etc.)
PS2 or Ventus. I have the Ventus and they were a decent price but I’m not super happy with them to be honest. Feel like they could be stickier. I haven’t driven on the PS2 but I’d say those instead simply from my experience with the Ventus (don’t get me wrong, they aren’t bad at all, just had higher expectations of them).
Thanks for confirming my fears and saving me the trouble with Forgestar. The weight was tempting, and I saw a pic online of a white B8 Avant with gold F14s that looked sweet, but I don’t care all that much about the weight and I don’t like how the TSW’s look, so I’ll just go VMR, and I’m pretty sure I’ll get Gunmetal. Now just to decide: 718 or 710…
Thanks also for the thoughts on the Hankook vs. PS2. This seems like a toss up depending on who you talk to. I have learned “buy nice or buy twice” the hard way several times now, so will prob just do PS2.
It’s mind boggling how a company can stay in business with service like that.
(And if you’ll notice in one of the posts, some guy claims his buddy weighed them and they were heavier than the advertised weight).
As for the Ventus, I drive my car to the limit and feel they just don’t grip well enough. That said, when they lose their grip, it’s progressive rather than grip grip grip gone. Still, I’ve rarely heard bad things about the PS2s other than their cost but I’ve never tried them.
VMR have a nice concavity that the TSW don’t have. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I don’t like how the TSW look, somehow look cheap or something…
Thanks Saki, I had lots of time to get the angle right because about a kilometer past this spot the road just ends… Wilderness. So I could basically stand in the middle of the road trying to get the best view and no cars would come along. Pretty nice place to have 1/2 hour from your house.
None really other than I don’t need a provincial front plate and I dig it. Oh, that and it gives cops with laser guns a nice, bright target to pinpoint just how badly I’m behaving.
The system is all about quality sound, so it’s really not that loud. Well… it does get pretty loud, but not so if you’re outside of the car. And the exhaust? well you know it’s loud, but… it’s amazing how I’ve come around. I want header sounds now!
haha I was a real pussy when I first got my Fast Intentions/Piggies on my B7 S4. I thought it was retarded loud. Then I got used to the drone and how to avoid it, and all was well. By the time I had 2.5 full catless JHM downpipes/FI catback the volume had doubled…and I was very fine with it. It was a bit crazy though if you really got on it.
I’m pretty sure I whored these pics out several years ago on another site but since I’m new here thought I might post a few up. The car looks the same and no issues since I bought it new in Nov 2008 with all of the mods being done March 2009 or 6k miles. Currently have 43k on the clock with the only change along the way was replacing the Giac tune with JHM’s. Hartmann rs4 reps in machine finish with 255/30/19 eagle f1’s on Statis c/o’s, Milltek dp’s with stasis exhaust was the options as I wanted to maintain the factory warranty. Champion Motorsports performed all of the work. I absolutely love this car as a daily! http://img.tapatalk.com/a6937b10-dff5-5aa4.jpg
The garage floor is fantastic, I get many comments from others including the Chinese food delivery lady!
I’m not a big DIY guy as I lack the talent and confidence to tackle such projects.
Cost for the floor is between $2500-3000. Here is the link for the company I used down here, I’m sure there is one similar in the GTA.
