She runs consistent 11s in my car and 2 seconds faster than you in her lightly moded 300 HP stock turbo daily driver wrx. What is your excuse?

I don’t really know much about those guys but people seem to speak highly of the shop staff.

This is a general statement, not really directed at rsworx… I don’t get why everyone thinks that you have to upgrade so much driveline stuff. Many of us have made many passes and launched hard on stock components. Only absolute must do in my eyes are the clutch (obviously) and a dts and the rear differ front mount. All the upgraded driveline and axle stuff is totally optional and i think people who break them constantly just aren’t smooth. Everyone likes to reference oz, so I will too, at a peak he made 1250 HP and ran well into the 8s, he had a stock drivetrain and Audi 100 front axles. That’s it.

Yeah I run beefed up engine, trans and snub mounts these days but it isn’t in anyway mandatory.

Also after reading their thread I wondered if they want a widebody and wider tires for straight line traction or curves. I want to assume for curves because if they are going wider for straight line that is a waste, a wider tire does not grip better for acceleration, its actually worse given the same vehicle weight, tire PSI and compound. A narrower tires contact patch will be longer front to back and that’s how you hook.

I reckon the widebody is just to make it cool, and in theory to put the power to the ground. I don;'t think it’s for the road course.

As I said above, I think it’s also going to serve as a great reason to not go to the strip (as does the driveline stuff).

Here’s a funny question - how long would it take you to do a clutch/flywheel and install a couple of strong new axles as well as those couple of mounts and DTS? 1 day in the shop?

Watch how long it takes them…it’ll be funny.

Yeah one day affair for sure. I am not sure they own the car, if they do I can see them only working on it around paying jobs. So I kinda understand the time thing. I had to take a few weeks off paying jobs last year to finally buckle down and finish my car.

good point. I actually think that’s why they won’t end up going once they get into this widebody project. Those widebody projects always take 8 times longer than anticipated, and as you say when it is priority 900, I can’t see it getting done real quick.

Anyway, I dont think you make a big media splash like they did if you’re not prepared to commit a couple of evenings to getting it ready. Bestowing a title upon yourself with that thread…I really hope they go 10.50 @ 140 because otherwise they’re going to be frigging embarrassed.
