Opinion on c6 S6

Saki here is a link to the allroad here.

Well the gas over here is not cheap , its a little cheaper than Europe by a small margin , the diesel its cheaper about 1,3-4 dollar 1liter fuel its about 1,7-8 dollar liter 93 octane

Of course the all road diesel its the “right” choose , but this car its only going to be used like 3500-to 5000 miles a year so even with the cheaper diesel and better performance in gas millage in my personal opinion its not "worth " the diesel economy , plus its not going to perform like the S6 ( performance) and I really emphasize on this since Im a hugh fan of a “performance” cars.

Everywhere in all the stations , and its good quality.

When I first got to Canada 2y ago, I would’ve paid anything for a manual, quattro, TDI wagon. Then I was on the hunt for a 1.8t, then I found the S4 LOL.

I agree with saki, times are a-changing, just look at the 1/4 mile B8 world, dominated by the DSGs. Although that may be more due to the B8’s shitty clutch.

The appearance of a B8 RS4 at a cars and coffee event in DC (http://fourtitude.com/news/Audi_News_1/411-on-that-audi-rs-4-spotted-over-the-weekend/) got me thinking… if they brought the RS4 here, I would buy it in a heartbeat… but oh wait it’s an auto. My short shifter is my favourite mod, right?

But then again, I liked shifting gears in England because of all the fun, twisty country roads I would have to drive on my 18 mile commute. Roads that would be empty at 6.30am. Like this: http://goo.gl/maps/UBSST

None of that here in Ontario, so the auto in the RS4 makes sense again. The RS4 would probably be about $90k here in Canada, all in. That would go a long way on my current car!

Back on topic, why does that allroad exist in Chile and not here. Argh?!

coupe quattro 2.0tdi 6mt

I love my 1998 TDI Jetta 5-speed stick with 209K miles… Get’s around 40-45 in the city and 50+ on the highway… After dumping my Mustang it’s the only stick car I have :frowning: I so bad want another manual performance car but most of the cars I am interested in don’t come in stick… Would be nice if the TTRS was a true quattro car… Oh well, tough life choices… lol

Simple 2 reasons

  1. Audi dealerships were mostly built between 2000-2005 when the company went through a refurbishment process. Unfortunately back then they sold 6 models (A34568, TT). Now they sell 15 (added R8, A5, A7, Q5, Q7 not to mention RS models etc.). Adding more and more models to showrooms that can’t handle them doesn’t work in the car business. Go to your local Mercedes dealer. They have 15 cars on display. Go to the Audi dealer. They have 5.

  2. (biggest reason) US crash safety regulations are retardedly tight. Canada uses the US standards. So a manufacturer would need to crash test an RS4 in order to sell it in the USA.

Since it’s wagon only, and Audi might sell 300-500 per year…they look at the math and say fuck it. Then they look at Canada, where we would buy 150-200/year (WAY more per capita than america but still not enough to justify our also crazy crash test requirements) and then they say ‘fuck it’

If there was a global crash safety standard, we’d all be save money, and we’d all have the cool cars.

Places like South America, Mexico, most of Asia just follow ROW standards. It’s only America (and Canada) where this ridiculous restriction precludes us from enjoying a bunch of these great cars.

JP has talked about 2 cars I would stab someone to own. My dream garage would be a 3.0TDI Avant and a C6 RS6 Avant. Chile gets em. We don’t.

ugg just saw the all road…get the S6!

ooooh, not my dealership

http://www.rpmasiello.com/slides/wagner.jpg

the place is crazy, kinda makes me think I’m paying too much if they can afford that building lol

when was that built? Looks brand new. There are a bunch of new ones for sure, but most of them are around 10 years old.

Look back to what that dealer looked like before they rebuilt it (and it looks like it was re-done in 2009 or so). I bet it was about the size of the first floor of your house.

Our dealer, in a very wealthy town of 150,000 people just outside Toronto, is tiny. It was rebuilt in 2000 or so. It will need to be rebuilt already. There used to be 4 salesmen. Now there are 14. It’s nuts…they’re all double stacked in little offices.

That’s the norm while they go through this newest refurbishment phase to the ones that look like that one in massechusetts above.

oh its brand new, their old location is the prime example of what you are talking about… they had 4 salesmen and 3 techs in a building with 8ft cellings. My response was sarcastic, since it only recently bucked the trend of tiny Audi dealerships. The Wagner BMW and MB dealerships are quite nice/large as well, their Jag dealership is still old a decrepit.

OP the exhaust is custom by trexturk. 2.5" aluminized piping. No resonators, just two single in 2.5"/ Single out 2.5" magnaflow race series mufflers. No crossover either. I imagine it would be pretty nutty with decatted headers, 3" piping and an x-pipe with a good tune to go with it

Thanks !

The idea its about this regarding to mods … really hope 110+ traps .

Regards

That’s definitely possible with just a tune an catback. It traps about 106 from the factory. The biggest issue will be the heatsoak. Needs intake spacers desperately

Well today I look at 2 S6 , 1 gray and the other blue both in excellent condition about the same price etc.
Hope to have a s6 by this month.

I hope that a company like JHM can do this .(intake spacers) , well I can do it also jeje
I got some pics of the complete exhaust including headers , well the headers are probably 1 of the main reasons this car do not produce good power , the intake its also restrictive , As soon I got the car I will send a mail to countvohn to see and work with software ( hope he can work on this ecu)
Looking at some dynos it pocible to see that the engine need to breath at high rpm , from Audi over here they told me the cats are 900 cels in the headers pretty restrictive if you ask me .
This for now.

Regards

There’s a MB dealer by Saki and I that’s just ridiculous. It makes everything around look like a trailer.

I’ll try to get going on the stuff Count needed to get the s6 tune going. He’s already done a couple so he has the file, he just needs logs from any given car to optimize the tune for said car. Then you use the cheetah cable used to flash RS4’s to load the tune onto the car.

So you need…

  1. LEGIT Ross-Rech VCDS. OR the ecu tool knockoff but it looks like they are no longer available
  2. purchase what JHM calls the “cheetah cable” to flash the car. I think it was 350??

Oh and installing the intake spacers on the s6 is not going to be easy for consumers. Getting the IM off that car is a hell of a lot of work. The fuel lines coming out of the HPFP all connect semi-under the IM, and they’re near impossible to get to to unbolt. Took me a while. But maybe I missed something. I took pics to make a carbon clean DIY. I should get on that. After finals…

  • That would be perfect B6joes4 , where you can get the cheetah cable?

1-allready got it
2-I also got some tools to “chip tune” cars BDM CMD EVC and a bunch of cables, maybe I can give a hand in this department.

Regards

Joe if this its not much a trouble can you do "DIY " guide ? with pics etc.

Thanks.

You get the cheetah cable from JHM. I’ll get going on the DIY
