where are the timeslips from the APR runs and the stock runs?
Now this concerns me. Some of us have stated that we DO indeed do this for a living, but you keep pushing this chipwerke down everyones throat. The A6 community frowns upon it, too. You are the only one in that thread that still runs the chipwerke.
APR runs were 1520 feet.
actually the DA when he went with the piggyback was 1261, so there’s about a 1% delta power wise.
Going to meet up with a guy that has the CW at Mason Dixon Dragway to do some side by side. He’s had his for a few days and doesn’t seem to be having any of the drivability problems others have. Regrettably our schedules don’t intersect until May 16th- but when it happens I’ll report back the results. BTW- I’d like to log my car @ the track but being new to the game I’m kind of clueless what I need to hook up to do so. I have a new Surface I can use but what cable and software would I need?

So now they are talking about updates to the CW software? Wtf? So it was not setup correct to begin with?
As a side show, it’s funny how the CW vendor can’t get the AZ moderators to listen to his request to become an official paying vendor. Maybe will eat into other vendors profit?? Interesting politics if that’s the case…The guy doesn’t seem very sharp though, so maybe he’s screwing up.

Come on guys. Without updates we would have Revo still blowing motors and GIAC still making stock power on their facelift cars. Lets try not to be biased here and now be saying CW is crazy for offering a free update, lol.

CW obviously. Ok clearly you were being facetious. So you equate an update of the apr flash to “updating” this sensor spoof curve?
Oh ok. Well for the CW update I have the updated Pro unit. I tested it versus the S model I have before I have to send one back for a return and they log out pretty much the same (assuming minor variances from run to run). Its stated that he tweaked the map to come on sooner and end later but in reality the curve already comes on before you are into the boost so I dont know what it will do.
The CW guy said it will “give more power under the curve” but since Retell and I are making gains all the way down to 3000rpm and likely below I dont know how much improvment people can expect. I didnt notice a big difference. Maybe others will.
As for the APR updates that they announced today, I am not sure what issues they will address.

I get the impression European90 is probably more of a software engineer that has done these basic “maps” on 1000’s of cars. I think his lack of sharpness comes from a combination of that, and language barriers. I’ve worked with a lot of SW engineers from Romania, Turkey, etc., and they all come across about like that. Not saying that as a good or bad thing; it’s just hard to get a full read on someone when there is a language barrier (I can’t communicate more than maybe 10 words in a language other than English, so…).
Ok with that comment I’m convinced you don’t really understand why these approaches are different and are stuck in a race to the bottom “different way to skin a cat” mindset. I’m gonna check out of this debate because I really don’t care anymore.
He is very stubborn, as most of the people on audizine are today. On a side note, what has happened to vendorzine? A year ago chipwerke would have been DESTROYED on the forum, obviously being a bad tuning choice. Now people are very quick to jump on it, because it is cheap? Maybe our cars are getting older so cheaper people are buying them used. They make MPG claims too on their website and support 4000 cars. I’m sure they have spent as much as APR on their ‘update’. :

Also interesting that he said the other day he paid $349 for the basic unit (more than AZ members he claimed), but now he has received an updated pro unit that he didn’t mention. I guess everyone who bought the basic unit can expect to receive a free, updated pro unit? Or is that just for people who are affiliated with promoting the company?

He didn’t get a free pro unit, he bought one to compare and is going to return one of them. His logs are showing him that they pretty much perform identically and the metal case on the pro gets really warm so he was thinking he would most likely return the pro.
From what I’ve seen, the black box model everyone is considering has input of $$ and output of power/timing/drives “well”. That is the degree of intellectual thought. Every argument is made to support your world view.
No it’s not Mike…it’s a guy from Turkey who has broken English and usually posts in the AZ thread in the AM in EST. The way he talks makes him seem like the guy who is making the devices or calibrating them. He is the one who announced the “update”.
