I guess all that weight especially up front (one pro to the weight distro) and decent aero helps. Did it feel scary even at 150+ or pretty stable ?

Not to derail this thread but I’m curious what the theoretical top speed is gearing wise if you removed the top speed limiter of an s6 or s8, is it more like 175+ mph?

I know the e60 m5 smg is 200+ mph, and the only four door sedan I am aware of that can hit speeds over 200 with the only change being a top speed limiter removal (an option in Europe I believe). At least a few years ago that was still true?

Felt rock solid like it would’ve been that way to 186 or whatever it’s geared for… They geared the R8 for 186mph I believe I remembered hearing… I could easily be wrong though. What I can say is that the limiter is taken off with the JHM tune, so who’s going to be the first one to find out what the top speed really is post mods (in Mexico)?

When I was in Germany 155 felt so comfortable that I would literally set cruise control around 140mph. Made it form Frankfurt to berlin in 3.5 hrs.

I’ve reached limiter in this car NUMEROUS times and now I’m super curious with the limiter gone what it reall can do.

Wow… I need to analyze my life to figure out how I can find a way to get my car over to Germany for an Autobahn run. In the meantime, perhaps a mile event at an airport will do. Highway speeding is nice for the adrenaline rush, but too old to take that sort of risk too often, soooo lol… VIR and Dominion in fall though for Audi Club HPDEs, so that should be a good opportunity. Not sure anyone has tried to reach top speed with the JHM suite yet, but real question is, which one of you want the bragging rights and will record video (for research purposes lol)…

A neighbor SCREAMED at me this morning to “SLOW DOWN ASSHOLE!” when I accelerated from a stopsign in the neighborhood. I wasn’t even accelerating hard, and didn’t even pass the 35mph speed limit. But I was driving with the paddles and letting the RPMs get pretty high - apparently from outside the car it sounded substantially faster than it was ;D

No video, just a funny story to share. These cars really do sound quite insane when you wind them up.

Yeah that’s how I got my last ticket(s)… cop didn’t clock me and still tries to throw the book at me lol… he was like:

“You just turned the corner and your car was like ‘Woo-oooooooh’…”

That sounds and looks fantastic, great video. I have most of the same mods, minus the exhaust and tcu tune. there is no doubt the stock exhaust is very restrictive. Any change in temps in the engine bay with the headers?

Uhhh…yes more details, MORE SOUNDS. jesus that sounds fantastic. those power numbers are…insane.
really need full details, power numbers before, octane used, track slips, more sounds, more sounds, more sounds!
Videos dont do these cars justice. Even my stock s8 exhaust with flaps pinned open soudns amazing when standing outside the car and someone does a WOT pull away from you. just cant get the tone and sound level with a video.
I can only imagine how amazing the headers sound in real life.
I NEED this for the s8. Wife wants it done too.
