I`m probably going to get this red rs5 next .

Seems like a reasonable option . 2012 , 44 k km , still in warranty , bang & olufsen and all the usual bling.
Steel brakes which is a plus for me.
First things I`ll be looking for are : cover , 18 inch wheels, brake pads, brake lines , brake discs .
Things Ive noted : same braking system as the rs4 . Might be interesting for rs4 users to retrofit wave brake discs. dunno if they
re directional . I`m familiar with the 8 pot gt calipers . very good . Interesting to see how it stacks up . The car is very heavy and the breaking point is tire grip not braking system friction .
Almost same engine. Havent gotten round to verify part numbers. If some rs4 ancillaries are the same I
ll probably go for a lw pulley .
Twin intakes means no choke point on intake side. twin intakes also means two nitrous nozzles . Got to look at manifold opened up and see if it will cause puddling and is prone to porting and polishing.
Exhaust is still under 2.5 inch diameter . bummer. will have to look into making my own. Mufflers and getting resonance out are a bitch . Obviously no cats .
Tune is going to be easier . Med 17.x ecu has already been cracked by RBN tuning (gt28rs 1.8 tsi) .
As Arin put it … there arent a lot of gains you can make out of a 450 hp 4.2l n/a engine. Instead we
ll look for de-restricting , launch , no cat cel elimination , nitrous safeguards.
7 speed gearbox sounds cool . I think hp under 600 (stock + tune + 150 hp nitrous) is going to be ok .
If the engine geometry is same as the rs4 (outside , not internals) i`ll look into dropping a supercharger. not in the near future though.
Bang and olufsen . Well how do I start. I like to think Im an audiophile . I also like to think I know what I
m doing when I modify customers car for better sound. After cracking open a few brand name systems and finding speakers with magnets the size of coins Im not impressed. It
s got a mmi 3g which means most communications (fiber optic) .
Looking if I can add a mobridge da1 (or da2) at the same time with the oem amp. I just want the front door speakers and subwoofer for now. If its possible . If it isn
t Im not sure what to do. Got a leftover bit-one , a t8004 and a 33wx2 sub which I
d like to add to a custom enclosure.
I still have the nitrous kit leftover from the rs4. probably going in when I can be bothered to splice into the ecu harness. (requires hardwiring) .
Other than that … 2012 facelift ?
Carbon fiber parts ? (for looks, a 2 door coupe at 1800 kg is not going to 1400kg without major surgery)
