Ran a Stage III B5 s4 today

Are you retsrted you wrote this

I then responded. I basically zaid you will still loose…its need yoy have a new toy…big wows on your 4.1…still didn’t fix the low rpm low mph power band of the b5…roll eyes indeed

I’m still confused as to where I said I would win? I can’t foresee the future and I’ve never watched a video of a b5 and b6/7 racing from a slow roll. I just thought it would make for a good race.

In all fairness, he didn’t write he would win. Maybe he simply wanted to say he wanted to see how much a 4.2 would whoop him from a dig

we’re definitely less mature

Even if you were talking trash that you’d win, that’s cool. Nothing wrong with that. It’s good fun.

Ok…lets do this…do you assume because you did 4.1 that now the low rpm m0h race would be different. …maybe explain to me… im under the impression you posted a 4.1 amd made the comment you made…attpting to say 4.1…oh well maybe im jot going to do so bad in a low speed race…

Here’s a video

stage 2+ B5. AWE SM Intercoolers, AWE downpipes, AWE exhaust, GIAC tune, K03 turbos 150 lb driver
vs.
B7 S4, piggies (jsut precats gutted), Fast intentions catback, JHM 93 tune, LWCP, 240 lbs driver

www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4z2NFKZCIA

That was in first from like 5 or 10. B7 won by 2 cars comfortably. Did it a couple of times.

The same guy got frankenturbos, ER SMIC, VAST tune, upgraded clutch and flywheel etc and we raced again.

I would put 2-3 cars on him from 10-50…then he would start coming back. By top of 3rd we would be tied. By top of 4th he would be a good 3-4 car lengths ahead.

I have those runs on video but I’ll be damned if I can find them on my youtube?

You onow if you loaded thrm here you wouldn’t loose them and its eaiser to see rhem on my phone

Twke that same video make the stage 2+ a stage 3 and the low end for thr b5 dosent get better it gets worse…

Thanks for the video Saki. Doesn’t look like the b5 got beaten too badly? B7 had about a car length? So that’s a stage 2+ and I’m running more boost on k04’s, I’d think it would be a close race, no?

I’ve been well sorted stage 2+ cars from 20 mph. I think it depends a lot on the cars. Also, ER side mounts have been shown as more restrictive which can slightly hurt response.

Been = beaten

Anyways, moral of my post was that I just wanted to do some friendly pulls with Alex’s b7. I thought they would be good races, I guess I was wrong.

No thats what im saying… a stsge 2 csr stands. Better chance down low…a stage 3 car is slower off the rolll due to lag…sure when the boost comes in you make more power amd gain more ground but you also lost more down low with the lag…unless you go from a dead stop and yiu launch the shit out of it…

All im saying…cool 4.1 most b5 guys with big power are 6.0…good package you have going on

Thank you. I just like to enjoy my car with fellow enthusiasts. Each generation of the s4 has its pros and cons, but they’re all great

I think it was more like 2 cars but the video is somewhat shit.

If you raced a B7 it would not be close past 70 or so. You would win. You would just likely lag a little at the beginning. The K03 cars are liikely a little quicker in 1st and 2nd…but after that the K04 car would be quicker. So vs. that race, I reckon you’d be behind both cars briefly, then would pass the K03 car, and then the B7. That was about as slow as you could make that B7. It was around 85 degrees and we had just been on a spirited 40 minute drive.

In that format it ran 13.21 @ 107.1

When it got better downpipes and an updated tune (JHM is always improving the tune) it went 12.9 @ 107.7

Then it got sold and I got this bitch

What Chris is referring to is that many of the B5 S4s don’t just do what they’re supposed to. For example in that RS4 I raced 2 different B5 S4s at the dragstrip, and beat them both. One of them trapped 113 or so, but was so slow in 1st/2nd that he couldn’t catch me on ET (12.9 vs. 13.2). The other was just dismal and performed like a stage 2 car running low 13s but at only like 108.

It’s tough to get them off the line quickly and in one piece, and then 2nd is a bit long…so the odds are tough you’re going to be a star right away. If you throw race gas at the car it helps, but it starts feeling like a hollow win, since you’ll end up running pump gas when you race your buddy on the road a few days later.

I agree… most b5 guys dont get it. AR is a lucky site as we have several honest open minded b5 guys that will tell you how it is…

I come fdom the place of…hoave fun but realze wuat is what…it seemed to me you did a good 0-60 run and then wanted to race 0-60 thinking that you wouldn’t loose because your dazh timer showed a good time… from there you thought I should do this race because someone said I would get whoped amd my new toy has convinced me other wise…ill prove that wrong and these guys seem wrong due to what I just saw…

Moat guys do the simmiler thing…the difference is they tell us they have 10 second cars when it turns out they have low 12 second cars…

Yup I got over 28K for the car once I pulled a few things off it and sold those separate. Still have another 1K worth of parts just in case I get around to an RS4. Right now I haven’t even had time to look for a new vehicle as much as I would like to though. Want to test the B8 S4 and e90 M3

How much did you get for the actual car? Since you’re talking money etc

27 with stock wheels.

That’s incredible.

I test drove the e90 and loved it. Almost bought one. Actually… I did buy a CPO, and cancelled the contract several days later when the dealer tried to pull shenanigans at delivery… but that’s a different story.

Then I test drove the RS4 (none locally, lucked into one while I was travelling). I realized that it was entirely more car than the M3.

For context, I was coming from a 9 year old Subaru STi with extensive performance modifications, so every car I test drove felt slower, heavier, and upmarket. As you are coming from an Audi, your take may well be different.
