REVO?

I’ve been waiting for several weeks to hear from Revo concerning tunes for the 2014 B8.5s, ECU, DSG and switching. Last Wed. I called Revo sales in WV and left a message for Jeff. No returned call. On Friday I called and left a message for both Jeff and Chris, also tried to talk to to operator, no response. Just tried again this morning, the same. Dialed the UK number and attempted to reach their sales and marketing departments. Placed on hold both times via the phone tree, listened to about 30 seconds of music and then a recorded voice saying 'please call back". then a busy signal…not good?!

Ed, This is one of the reasons I’d be careful switching to these guys along with their history on this platform… Granted the updated tune seems more solid based on what I’ve seen from bgm’s car… I think he got the tcu tune but I haven’t seen a review/thoughts from him… Hopefully, he can update us on the cars performance with the tcu tune… He does however have a B8 not B8.5…

Well, just got a call from Jeff at Revo, USA. If you are one of the ones waiting for your file to be read and a program created for your car (8.5 2014) I was told it could be today, tomorrow or in a week. I still find it interesting the headquarters in the UK will not answer their phone.

Ron, understand. Not my day. My fabricator for my hood inlet just backed out of the deal. He suggests a body shop.

I was actually in contact with Jeff quite often over the past few weeks waiting on the DSG tune. He was always very responsive even when he was in Europe. not sure why you have had bad luck

been running the tune since Thursday but no time to really do a proper review. but i will get one sometime soon. I am planning on going to Wed test/tune next week for sure.

What model S4 are you driving? Thanks.

Have you looked into just adding the front scoop? I looked at mine this weekend and it should work with a CPS still, you are just extending the plastic portion down further. I think i will tackle this next week, i did remove my snow screen, it will filled with bugs!

12 S4

I’d very much agree with this. You’d be best off waiting till there’s something more solid. I’d wonder if their non response is due to possible issues that they themselves are still working out.

Infinkc, I’m running a APR CPS with a second radiator in front of the stock. Any air coming in has to deal with that as well as the heat associated with it.
Hyden, understand. No matter what I’m on hang fire until something changes with Revo and APR. Right now Revo looks closer than anyone else. Time will tell.

Just take it to a Revo dealer and get the software installed. No need to call the butcher when ordering a steak.

As you should I appreciate your diligence in getting the performance you want. Are there any reasons you’re not considering GIAC? They’ve seemed to have some luck with the newer cars.

Although the butcher will know more about different cuts versus the waiter

Also if his goal is 11s, it probably isn’t wise to follow your advice.

The nearest GIAC dealer is six hours from my house, a three day trip and two nights in a hotel. Also, since APR’s and Revo’s pulleys are identical that will save me a few bucks. I’m in the middle of an Aquamist meth/water injection system install with the Revo dealer, he is also going to do my NACA duct install as well as REVO work if they come through soon with 8.5 tunes and DSG mod. The dealer also has a very sophisticated dyno and can individually tune a car, all 75 minutes from my door.

All power to you for your enthusiasm but I reckon waiting to see how this b8.5 business all shakes out will be your best bet.

In the end all anyone’s concern for you is you don’t get taken advantage of. Shops or tuners generally look for guys like you. The very eager for performance and willing to pay for it. REVO seems the untested route but it’s also appeared to be the more viable.

The NACA ducting seems to be an interesting idea. I’d really make sure to gather as much data pre install as you can. Otherwise any potential gains will be difficult to account for.

As Primetime has asked, I’m going to do some logging before the NACA duct install. His list of requested info is in this thread. Taken advantage of? I’m used to it…I’m a tax payer!

Don’t I hear you on that. Really my concerns for taken advantage of are you don’t get the results you want but REVO gets a willing participant. The fact that your local dealer has the ability to work with REVO on tuning is great if the results are great. Or the results ar e potentially dangerous for you.

With so many stories of under performing B8.5 it would be nice to see proven solutions. It will be even better if you’ll be part of finding that solution. I know myself and others want to see the solutions for you. We just don’t want to see the solutions come at your experience rather at your advantage.

I’d say your more then educated on what’s at stake and all the potential pitfalls here. While REVO does have sorta slimy factor to them for what they did to APR. If they get this right it will at least show one good thing.
