Re: Thanks
Sorry I thought Jeff had reached out to you. We had a car in last week that we thought was different than yours but someone just wrote a number down wrong and we do now have your DSG software ready to go on request for any Revo dealer.
We are trying to get another 2014 in our US office though and just do some testing on it, we want to make sure we aren’t in a position like APR and GIAC not making as much power as we first though. So I’m not sure if i would rush off and change just yet.

Arin finally called Majestic Motorsports in Jacksonville on Sat. Wanted to make them some kind of an affiliate(?) dealer to my nearest APR dealer, GMP in Charlotte. Nothing wrong with GMP, good shop, but there were too many strings attached to the deal.
I’m sure you saw the revo stage1+ thread right…? Car didn’t really perform all that well under the REVO dsg tune and did so with some interesting parameters
So you end not much/any faster, and $3,000 poorer…and you’re worried about your car when it’s hot out.
Have you asked Ptime about his DSG flash? The one that he doesn’t want everyone to know he has? How far along is APR on development of that?
Majestic is stupid, there are tons of guys out in Jacksonville, NC area that they could cash in on. There aren’t any VW/Audi tuners closer than Raleigh and like you said the closest APR dealer is Charlotte. Anyways.
Don’t’ go with Revo Skywagon, it even sounds like they cushioned their response just in case your not any faster after wasting your money.

My plan is to get some financial assistance from REVO. If they are so sure that their product is so good we’ll dyno my car first, tune it, dyno again after. Let’s see if REVO will chip in? They said they would?
It does have some nice features, but I don’t see any way they’ll sell any/many. Maybe at $450 tops, but I think they are in for a hard economics lesson.
Ya pretty hard to go with that one over Roc-Euro. Still, people may buy it. Just look at APR’s intake - it’s going for ~ $700. I don’t think they’ve ever reduced the price, so presumably it’s selling.

You’re taking quite a bit of risk so should they. I agree don’t spend your money if you can have REVO put their money where their mouth is. At this point REVO stands to gain a big bump from your success.
FYI, FWIW, Black Forest Industries in Cary NC, near Raleigh, is an APR dealer. I took my car to see them in hopes they could see if there was a problem with my APR tune. All they dare do was another re-flash and sent me on my way. Disappointing in my opinion!
Euroswag, please advise me of the reason for your dislike of Majestic Motorsports. Also, some day we should meet at Coastal Plains? Thanks
Sorry Skywagon, I’m back in the good ol’ Keystone State…hopefully for good, if not I would have definitely met up. Coastal is a decent track and it’s pretty relaxed compared to other dragstrips I’ve been to.
I’m not going to sit here and tell you that nothing nice ever came out of Majestic, because that is probably not true. I will tell you that they are only good with certain types of cars and many customers get pushed to the side for “friends” and shop cars. I was in Jacksonville for about 10 years (Marine Corps, probably the reason for our hostile banter back and forth) and during my time I saw many guys blow loads of money at Majestic, usually resulting in less than stellar work. You have to understand that there are tons of young and dumb military guys with deployment/re-enlistment money that many local “tuners” exploit …and Majestic falls right into that category.
I had a buddy that had a horrible paint job by them at their old facility. Also, I had a friend that spent way too much money there on his WRX and the thing never ever ran right. So it’s exactly like Saki said, their new place has nice shiny floors, a ton of square footage, but their final products are mediocre at best.
The owner has some really nice cars, but I’m pretty sure they don’t build his engines in house or the majority of the car for that matter. He outsources a ton of the work on the Majestic “race cars” but leads people to believe that they are built at/by majestic…that is not the case.
Fair enough. So far all they did was the meth and the hole in the hood. As we both know they are a REVO dealer. They have the most impressive dyno I’ve ever seen. Rich, the owner, says it cost 120K? Regardless, I could be wrong, Revo sends them a package and they simply down load it into the car through the OBD, correct? I may have the attention of REVO and hope for at least some financial help from them? Thus they may also help to make sure my car is done properly? I hope, if everything goes to hell, I can still re-flash back to APR for $45. Many young stud Marines came and went as I sat there one day. Understand your concern. It’s going on mid Sept, cooler air coming. Been waiting for months for some one to perform. GIAC a three day ordeal, Asheville. Majestic 1+15 away. Thanks
