REVOLUTIONARY RESULTS - Dragstrip Database for B7 RS4 (LINK TO MASTER LIST INSID

just give dan’s car a 93 octane tune (the one george went 12.28 with) and it’ll be done. Dan went 12.29 on the 91 tune on cali 91 pump gas. The difference is huge between the two tunes so it shouldn’t be hard to get a 12.15 all motor. Dan has everything George had except Dan has 44lb wheel/tire combos, about 25 lbs rotating mass lighter than george’s setup.

It’s at that point (alll motttttor 12.0 or 12.1) that people are really going to start questioning how awesome the no backseat/no seatback/no trunk APR 11.83 really was and wondering about that TVS1320 choice.

The good news for APR is that Dan’s car won’t be able to run all motor any time soon.

The bad news for APR is that Dan’s car won’t be able to run all motor any time soon.

SC RS4 is going to be mind boggling.

Will you go the SC route saki

this is good news (from the guy who ran 12.84 bone stock). Finally lol. Someone PM him about this thread, and ask him about his clutch choice. Hopefully he at least knew of the JHM options + LWFW.

[quote=jnaut]I am an avid drag racer, as i am still in 1st place in their 1/4 mile section on another forum with my previous car. There will be more to come out of my car since I am installing a new clutch in the next coming weeks. Thanks for the kind words.

Yes I will be running jhm aluminum f/w with clutchmasters fx300.

Everybody else thanks for the kind words on the car and my driving.

I am kinda dissapionted in this car with its weak 60ft ability. I am an avid DR, have been doing it for a numer of years. I sold me 370z and bought the rs. I am in 1st place in the allmotor section of the DR section. Point being is I consistantly cut 1.81 to 1.85 with a rwd car, manual trans and bridgestone re-11 and the best 60 i am seeing is mid 1.7 . yes i know its 4000lb as the Z is 3400lb but this is awd vs rwd. I know my 60’s will drop with the new clutch but I was expecting high 1.6 to low 1.7. other than this issues i love this car.

Tell us about your launch technique a bit…and welcome.

Lots of drag racing enthusiasts here.

Also, power to weight will determine a lot of your 60 foot. What kind of power was your z making? What times were you running?

There was a 370z guy at the strip when I went 12.94 in my bone stock rs4 this fall. From burlington, on. He had an automatic z with a ton of bolt on mods and ran 12.6-12.7 that day. Mickeys on the rear and little skinnies up front lol. Aggressive! He said he ran 12.4 as his best earlier in the season.

Also did you consider the jhm stage 3 or 4 clutch? Fantastic part and with the lwfw its about 1600 bucks I believe. They also have a crazy strong stage 5 option they’re testing.

The jhm lwfw and stage 4 is what was on the two rs4 bolt on cars that went 12.2 all motor.

I have a feeling that you live in canada??

Yes power to weight ratio does affect 60ft, but you have to put the power to the ground. my z was 3400lb and dynoed 319 @ 7950 rpm. best time was 12.24@ 112 with 1.81 60ft on street tires, iirc. My z ran consistant 12.3’s @ 112 all the time. It sucks i am changing the flywheel when i do the clutch as i do feel with a fresh clutch i can get low 12.7’s with it being all stock. As for the jhm clutch idk as i have ran clutchmasters in many previous cars with zero issues so i am going to continue the pattern.

Yup. I live just outside toronto.

He mentioned you I think now that I remember it. Pretty funny.

Hopefully the clutchmasters stuff works out. That lwfw shaving 13 lbs at the crank will help. How about tune and exhaust? Any thought?

His name is steve, the guy you met at the track, he is a die-hard z guy and he is still chasing my time lol. Yes i plan in the next 3 months to do jhm f/w, clutch , crank pulley, intake spacer, down pipes and a good tune. I really doubt ill do exhaust as i like to keep my cars quiet as possible.

Lol yeah he was pretty into it. That may be an understatement!

As for tunes, the jhm tune is killing it compared to the others. None of the other tuned cars have even run faster than your or my stock times lol

^speaking of which, how the heck is that not on your car yet? Are you just waiting to get more 1/4 passes in with stock tune or what? I figured the RS4 tune is figured out enough that even you would be on-board by now.

because

  1. I’m enjoying my car stock for now
  2. JHM can’t tune RS4s until they get their server all setup (taking ages) so what’s the point?
  3. I need to beat jnaut’s 12.84 first. I was originally aiming to beat that guy in Australia that ran 12.88, but now I have to see a 12.79 or better to be happy. I’m thinking with a carbon clean it will be potentially doable as I’ll probably get back some top end. A good launch and good DA and hopefully I can shave that 0.15 seconds off from 12.94 to 12.79.
  4. I want to do piggies and tune at the same time, so that will take me a while to find a set of piggies or stock downpipes cheap. Just want piggies, not full catless or I’d have bought NY07RS4’s from the classies.

I gotcha, well you could always take your back seats out and say that’s the norm for going to the strip!

^^ Haha

and what happens if I do a carbon cleaning and return to the track??

Guys. These cars aren’t made for the dragstrip.

^lol^

I’ll have two to knock off the top spot then ;D

where are you going with this???
lol

won’t matter because your ‘stock’ dragstrip days are over, now that you’re getting a new clutch

ZING!

he’s making fun of the monkeys who say that. Basically 4 groups of people say that:

  1. tuning companies whose parts don’t work
  2. people who bought those parts
  3. road course pseudo-elitists who don’t realize that these cars are awesome fun at the strip
  4. people who can’t drive to save their lives (often part of group 3 also ironically)
