well, the RS4 downpipes are 2.5" and have 2 cats in each pipe. You should pull the downpipes and eliminate the pre-cat up by the connection to the stock headers.
The stock 2.5" downpipes then neck down to 2.35" just before the stock catback, which is also 2.35". You’re giving up a bunch of flow from that neckdown back…but if you want to keep it, just keep it. But make sure you knock out those pre-cats. If you don’t get tuned, you will need to add spacers to prevent a catalyst efficiency CEL. If you do get tuned, it should prevent the catalyst efficiency CEL from happening.
Well, since they had to switch to a new fabshhop, they also needed new jigs because the ones the original fabricator were not really…good. He was good, but it was like messy handwriting as an analogy…only he really could make them work. So they had to basically start from scratch, then test a couple of fabshops to see if they could handle the work, and do well. They’re moving forward now. Bit of a backlog though.
As for the tune, there’s no way anybody can get JHM tuned for an RS4 right now. Not even Dan @ JHM. Their server deal they had with VAST turned into a negotiating point/hostage that VAST used in the dispute over the clutches for the B5 S4…and since VAST has gone flat mental, it doesn’t look like that’s coming back anytime soon. So they need to get on another server, with safety, protection, distribution. We’ll see what happens. It’s taking ages for a good reason…JHM doesn’t want to just let anyone see their tunes. They need to be very safe about it.
