ah, yeah that sucks. You miss lots.
its for a good reason though, so I’d rather be too busy to get my laptop and miss some points/pictures/data lol.
I’ve been putting lots of stuff into google docs now, never realized how convient it was to have all my reference material there.
Just thinking how long it will be before you need a 10 sec list. If Danny’s car on a good day went to the track with a sniff of nitrous it could be on. As it is if he gets some good tyres on a prep’d track (believe me the track last Sat was crap even though I did a 1.7) he wouldn’t be far off.
I don’t know but isn’t the blower still leaving a llittle on the table with the pump gas tune? You don’t think there’s more in it with race gas?
1.70 might be tough as the torque doesn’t hit early in the RPM band where you’re launching. Tough to say.
But a 1.70 will likely mean a 11.20-11.25 ET @ 125. The race gas if there’s a little more in it might push you over the edge.
Are you guys forced to restrict the throttle at all to protect the engine? THe map says it ought to be enough to push you well through 700 hp net.
I’ve gave my permission for it to be tested to failure so a 10 second may be on the cards with FULL interior
Interesting comparison between the recent 12.56 @ 110.3 posted by elevens vs. mine since I’m stock and ran in -400 DA just like he did.
12.56 vs my 12.94 = 0.38 seconds
110.3 vs. my 107.3 = 3.0 mph
4025 lbs car for you vs. 4095 for me = 70 lbs (I had much less gas in the tank, but I weigh 240 vs he weighs 185, and I have a sunroof while he opted to delete his from the factory)
60’ 1.83 vs. 1.95 for me = 0.12, so he’s a full tenth upright away. Likely lots to do with getting a better launch but also the GIAC tune removes the factory torque limit. While I was at 52% throttle before 5200 RPM, he was 100%. When I launched my car at 4000 rpms I sat still spinning the tires lol (elevens launched at 4000) so not sure how he pulled it off, but the snow tires likely helped. Maybe I’ll throw mine on this Friday if I go.
So the 70 lbs is probably worth about 0.05 to 0.075 seconds.
That leaves about 0.30 and 3.0 MPH that the GIAC tune, the h-pipe and the carbon clean got him vs. my car (33,000 miles worth and no carbon).
That’s (3 tenths and 3mph) likely around 30 hp crank or about 23-24 wheel hp.
Isn’t it sad that with a good driver, a tune and a crossover, elevens is quicker than a PES M90 supercharged RS4 with a good driver (kryptonik launched well and shifted well…both had about the same 60 foot)? Worse stilll…almost identical MPH. I think elevens’ timeslip is the final nail in the PES and VF Engineering M90 coffin.

what was your launch technique? What was his? Why didn’t you drive danny’s car?
I did a dummy launch before the line to clean the tyres, Then brought the revs’ up to 4k and rapidly fed the clutch in, not dumping it. I didn’t get to the track until about 1.30 then had to sign on, Doug’s boys didn’t turn up till much later and the track closed at 5.30 and I had to go before that. So no chance to have a go. But to be honest the track was not good and I advised Stu not to run again just before I left, the track had gone away even more with the cold and damp coming down. He needed much better tyres as well. The times will still come down with the right combinations. I think Stu’ was launching with higher rev’s, he still has to work on technique’s but in my opinion with the power on tap he needs better tyres and track conditions then his higher rev start will work. When I did 11.0 with my S2k I was launching at 8k and running 1.5 60’ . If the tracks good enough and your not too agressive with your clutch action you can get amazing 60’s.
cool thanks
Would be fun to see a strong MRC B5 vs. this Danny car. Or if MRC doesn’t want to see their B5 get beat (not ideal to beat your car with your own car…someone’s going to pissed either way), maybe a competitor’s stage III B5 S4 or tuned/modified B5 RS4. Would be interesting.
On pump gas with no sneaking race gas in, and no meth, I will bet just about any amount of money in the world on the RS4.
The ultimate would be all the supercharger manufacturers cars, and do 5 runs in an hour, to see what heat soak does
I like your thinking!! ;D
not sure there’s any point in including the PES M90 or VF M90 systems when a car with just a GIAC tune and an h-pipe resonator delete on stock catback beat the fastest M90 powered RS4 lol.
I’d like to see an APR/MTM/TTS showdown. It would finish TTS well in front and APR/MTM are probably identical a ways back (probably 3 cars in a highway pull and 4-6 cars back at the dragstrip.
The JHM and AMD setups are using very strong superchargers (V3 and TVS1900/2300). The JHM tuner is the best in the business (according to me) so I’d have to say they will be doing some very interesting things. The TTS time Danny just ran was the slow end of JHM’s expectations for their kit, so it’ll be interesting to see what they can do. They’re awesome dragracers too, so looking forward to it. Their car all motor ran 12.2 @ 111-112.
A TVS1900 would be a great blower good for mid 11s at 120+ and the 2300 would be basically strong enough for 10s with an excellent driver and tune…and supporting mods. If EPL tunes the AMD cars I don’t iknow what it’ll do…we haven’t really seen EPL have any 1/4 mile list success tuning Audis. Lots of great dynos though
Saki need to edit mines as I ran full milltek system, the 3" lost me power so came off to have more work done
so Milltek catless + Milltek catback non-res?
when you say ‘lost power’ did they run the car with the 3" setup? Or just dyno power?
Not sure it’s a true indictment of 3", but could have been anything including poor design etc. Leaving a Milltek 2.5" catback on there after the 3" downpipes doesn’t help either.
Would be nice to see 2.75+2.75 with an x on your car.
Milltek decat pipes and non res cat back mate! Lost torque on the dyno I think it was a first attempt their trying again with an x pipe once they’ve played around with the design! It’s on the Mrc Facebook page go have a look!
Quickest b5 in the uk was Mustys I’m sure that ran an 11.2@130 something I’ve been in that car and it’s a torque monster so different to my b7. My own b5 scares the shit out me my b7 doesnt
^^^I changed it already. Says Milltek catless/Milltek CB
Mustys car, I guarantee, wasn’t running 11.2 @ 130 on pump gas.
I’m sure it did mate its had new turbo’s etc I think? It’s absolutely stupidly fast but all big power b5’s feel quick due to the torque! My mate has one local it’s 635hp and 750nms he thinks he’ll have me I think otherwise
My car had previously run 12.94 @ 107 at Cayuga which is(was) the third fastest stock car I’ve heard on the forums, so really I was just there to take some photos, film some runs and shoot the shit. But the DA was awesome (around -500 most of the day) so I decided to run my car. I did so full interior, stock wheels and tire size, and with 1/4 tank of Petro Canada (Suncor) 94 octane. Car has 35,000 miles on or so, and has never been carbon cleaned.
1st run was a test, and I fucked up the launch. It launched hard, but I had rolled forward and started the clocks early. 13.0 @ 106 with a 2.0 60 foot time.
2nd run was a beauty. Car launched great, cut a 1.84 sixty foot time (first time in the RS4 for me to be better than 1.90) and ran on to a new RS4 stock record - 12.81 @ 107.7 MPH! The previous stock record was jnaut who ran 12.84 @ 107.7 so it was cool to nick him.
http://audirevolution.net/addons/albums/images/319527271.jpg
After this I basically shut it down for a while…threw in a couple of runs without cooling the car. These were 12.9 @ 107 mostly, + one with ESP on (FAIL!) and another where I clean missed second (FAIL AGAIN)…shot the shit and took some photos and video.
A while later when a few of the B8 guys left, bangoman, bora and I threw down a few more runs. Fortunately we got them ALL on video because they were sweet!
12.79 @ 108…2 (1.85 sixty foot)
12.77 @ 108.2 (1.85 sixty foot)
12.75 @ 108.3 (1.83 sixty foot)
http://audirevolution.net/addons/albums/images/414442169.jpg
I made 13 passes.
12.75 @ 108.3, 1.83 60’
12.77 @ 108.2, 1.85 60’
12.79 @ 108.2, 1.85 60’
12.81 @ 107.7, 1.84 60’
12.82 @ 108.0, 1.83 60’ (vs. the C63 AMG 13.7 @ 110.6)
12.90 @ 107.2, 1.88 60’ (vs. B8 S4 GIAC 91 TUNE…he ran 12.92 @ 109.8)
12.90 @ 107.4, 1.86 60’
12.97 @ 106.4, 1.87 60’
12.98 @ 105.2, 1.86 60’ missed the 3-4 badly (vs AMG C63 13.8 @ 111.6, 2.4 60’)
13.07 @ 1086.9, 2.01 60’
13.10 @ 105.4, 1.90 60’ (vs. APR stage II B8 S4 on race gas 12.27 @ 113.0)
13.46 @ 105.3 , 1.83 60’ (the one where I missed second badly, coasted for half a second but kept in it because I was racing a buddy for fun)
20@20 the ESP launch
