Actually I did forget that I do have l/w rotors all they way around. I have no other mods ie: tune, cat-back or anything else. I’m rolling on stock wheels. Thanks for the props!
for whatever reason tons of records come out of palm beach. Its where all the ugr times seem to come from, where that gtr stock record was and where he b8 s4 stock record was. Must be great prepped.
p.s. Any chance your previous owner tuned it and didn’t tell you? You should log your car.
Yes saki it’s a good track and well preped!! Also due to us being sea level our cars will always produce the most power possible.on another note I was there the night racing my z when the gtr made the record run, lol. Mostly it cause of three things sea level, well preped and it’s about 30 miles inland from coast so at night the weather cools down a good bit. In winter is our best racing as the temp run 50 degrees or so with low humidity.
The gtr is amazing !! I have a few customers with that I service/modify. I actually was purchasing one but it got sold then the rs fell into my lap. Such a good price I had to buy it. There was about 5 gtr’s out today.
As my car yes full interior but I do have aftermarket front seats. As for octane it’s a mix of 93 and 109. As for shifting , I never lift the throttle when I wanna win!!
I’ve got big plans for this car but right now just wait until the tune and I finally put on my track wheels at about 10 lbs less per wheel of rotating mass!! Got a few other things lying around the shop that I need to figure out which should net me another 30 to 40 to the wheels.
I would estimate the seats are about 50 to 60 lbs of total weight savings. I would say my car is probably 150lbs lighter than a 100% stock rs. As for mix, maybe 2/3 's 93 with 1/3 109. J Spec Auto is a repair/performance shop I own. I have done a lot a Z work but lately more German cars are arriving. Like now I upgrading rods and larger turbo in a TT Quattro . Another gti snap its timing belt and light weight f/w is going In '02 gti. Kinda odd as the name is j spec but mostly the J has to do with my name Jason .
Even with the lighter car and higher octane, that time is very solid. I’m wondering the same as Saki, wondering if the previous owner had it tuned and didn’t tell you. If not…and you add a solid tune like the JHM one and a well built FULL 2.75" system…in addition to the other LW wheels you mention etc - shiiiiiiiiiit, you’re going to be very hard to beat 1/4 wise for N/A RS4’s. You obviously can drive the car.
interestingly tonyRS4’s car dyno’d something excellent on high octane. Something like 350-360 whp but all he had on the car for power was an h-pipe. Had LW parts (rotors/flywheel), but they don’t show up on the dyno.
It should be noted that the dyno he was on isn’t exactly one that spits out low numbers…i.e. just a tune B8 S4 that trapped 12.4 @ 112-113 was dynoing 384 whp and LOTS of torque. Not exactly what you’d expect from a 12.4 @ 112-113 car.
NY I also questioned if the car had been tuned, since it did 355 awhp on a low reading mustang dyno. This was done when I first got the car. I felt this was good power on a 60k car with no carbon cleaning ever done and the air filter was sooooo dirty. I call the previous owner , no engine have ever been done. He was not aware of the caliber of car he owned. Not that it will affect my times but it also has KW v3.
Oh saki congrats on beating my stock time!! Yes I did do a carbon cleaning, it was horrible!!
Thanks dude. It was funny…my second run of the day was 12.81, and I basically shut it down and was doing photos and filiming the rest of the guys. Then I got the itch to go back out when an E93 M3 and a C63 showed up. ;D
