Nobody said you did.

How did the FX400 feel in regards to stock? I am trying to decide what to do now, will probably go with clutch and resurface my flywheel if needed. Not looking to change that out at this point.

Here is my 13.289 second timeslip from my first time at the Drag Strip, Royal Purple Raceway on 07NOV14. A little disappointing, but just gives me more motivation to practice. I felt like I was spinning too much from the launch and I think that is my biggest weakness at this point.

Any video? Definitely a little disappointing on trap speed. Your times will improve with shifting and launching prowess but your trap should be pretty consistent. 104 means you’re either taking a looooong time to shift, or you are down on power, or are shifting at 7000 rpm.

As we know the Milltek is a virtual replica of stock so it’s not helping.

YouTube link should take you to the video, although I think it takes an hour or so to be published.

Shifting: I was probably shifting a bit early. I have no idea. I was mostly just trying to make it down to the end without missing. I might try to go once more this month, but it is a 2.5hr drive and my time is limited.

Your 60’ could use some work… get that launch down and you should see some better times.

Haha its funny how you plan to do this and this and that and then the lights start dropping and all hell breaks loose. Before you know it you’re getting your timeslip but you don’t remember a fucking thing that just happened.

On that note do you remember how you launched it?

To be quite honest, I don’t have a clue. Somewhere near 4k, could have been over or under.

You had told me 3800 was approximately the best RPM, or a little lower if too much spin, so that’s what I was shooting for. But my competitive nature kicked in when I lined up so I made the mistake of trying to look at the lights instead of just getting a good launch. And being a bit nervous on top of it, helped me muddle up both! Haha

I didn’t check tire pressures, and didn’t log anything.

IMHO just go back and have fun with it, don’t worry about whether or not everything is perfect. If there was one thing to concentrate on it would be the launch as mashing the gas and shifting is easy compared to that.

Car went rocketing out of the hole. Definitely a bit of spin.
