I’ve broken more than my share of parts. You’ll find the freedom of knowing the car exceeds the price of broken parts. There is a fair amount of build up there. I didn’t see a picture with the broken parts on your intake.
Ah yes, that’s definitely the part. So that leads to more questions…
I live on the east coast, on the ocean, temps are are moderate, not too hot, not too cold. I wonder if I can get away with the bypass kit? If so, how does one plug the hole in the air intake in the manifold? Or do you?
Still looking for the OEM part number name etc…
Thanks!
That kit allows you to cap the holes on the TB and gives you a brass connector to joint the 2 coolant lines that normally go through the TB. Nothing else required. There is no part number on the part?
I’m guessing you’ll still need that part you broke though. From what I understood, this kit doesn’t let you remove that piece completely. It just lets you cap and bypass the coolant lines going into that piece you broke.
Did you find a replacement part?
If not we have a piece that we made for the supercharger kit to go there. However, you would need to delete the coolant bypass going through there.
Email me if you are interested!

1st pic shows where parts inserts into manifold.
2nd pic is half the broken part, under the hood, connected to hoses
3rd pic is the other half of the broken part (the piece broken off) that inserts into the manifold.
Looking for a name/part # so I can get a price, get one ordered, or whatever needs to be done…
Thanks.
I can’t find a part number but its this oil seperator, http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalog/jhm-oil-separator-heater-bypass-kit-for-b7-rs4-fsi-v8-p-717.html?cPath=21_56_310_313

Going to bump this thread up, this past weekend I took the opportunity to start pulling the manifold to get ready for the drags this coming Friday, I followed NY0RS4 diy, but I’m having some trouble getting the actual manifold off the block, anyone have anything I can look for today after work that might be holding it up?

Found this little wrench at lordco, I have to say with this the bolts on the backside of the motor where a breeze!
Appreciate the help in advance gents!
Can you list or show a picture of all the bolts you removed. Depending on if you had any collection of contamination by the runners. Try taking a dead blow and tapping the top runners on the face of the manifold. They can get gummed up.

Can you guys post links to the tools you got please. That looks way easier then what I have to do.
I followed the DiY that was posted by NYRS4, and quoted by Mistro above, I can get the manifold to move and actually lift it enough to be able to see inside the runners on the driver side, just hitting some resistance. The manifold has never been removed before this, most of the hoses were a pain to remove.
I snagged that tool from the bargain bin at lordco, ill take a photo of the packaging when I get home.
Craftsman makes these, available at your local Sears. Pretty useful little tools in the aircraft maintenance industry, great for cars too.

^ Neat! Hmmm… perhaps we need a tool thread… ???
