RS4 for sale in Toronto

I know there are a handful members in the GTA on here. I found what looks to be a very nice 2007 RS4 for sale. Does anyone know the owner? His name is George. I have been in contact and have agreed on a price though I thought it might make sense to determine if any others might be familiar with the car or owner before I fully commit. He may be on here, if so hopefully he’ll understand me reaching out to others in the community for added confidence.

If the below link doesn’t work - it’s listed on the zine under B6/7 S4/RS4 classifieds.

Thanks for any feedback or thoughts!

2007 RS4 Low Miles Mint

his asking price is INSANE for this market. He’ll be lucky to get $28,000 CDN.

He should advertise in the US. Since it was a US car it can easily be reimported back. And Americans will pay much more than a Canadian will for that car (market prices here haven’t moved much even though our currency has moved 35% in the past 4 years.)

I’m in Florida and would have it shipped and or pick it up myself. I thought the into alcohol price was a bit rich but not completely out of line. I’ve been looking for months (USA) and based on the mileage it seems to be somewhat reasonable.

wow then you should look up here…cars are WAY cheaper.

this guy is priced like he has the best RS4 around, and like he’s living in San Diego. You should buy one that is priced for the Canadian market instead.

I could be persuaded to sell mine if my next home doesn’t have a 3rd garage. But there’s no way I’d get $30,000 USD or even $25,000 USD for it up here. It has 90,000 miles and is stock other than teh JHM exhaust. I may just keep it forever.

Yeah, with the CDN dollar the way it is, we all could sell our cars for about what we paid for them a few years ago if sold to the US. Tempting, but …

if you have a CDN car though it’s a bit more cumbersome

  1. they need a new speedo for safety inspection (and because Americans suck at math)
  2. you will then have an asterisk beside your car’s mileage because the mileage won’t be accurate and there will be a sticker warning of this
  3. the US buyer has to pay the Gas Guzzler Tax which is a couple thousand US dollars to get the car into the country
  4. the US buyer will have to pay a couple of other excise or import taxes

So the benefit for the US buyer is a bit muted by those.

If your car (in Canada) was originally a US car that a CDN brought up, it can go back A LOT easier. Most of that stuff doesn’t apply and its smooth sailing.

This should have read “I thought the initial price” not into alcohol!

I’ll be honest I have been eyeing that one as well lol Seems like a very clean example and stock! The only thing that’s stopping me do I really want another black car… meh I’ll hold out till something special.

I’m surprised noone grabbed it just yet. Probably for these two readons:
A. Locals don’t jump on it cause it’s overpriced for local market.
B. Americans don’t jump on it cause it’s in Canada.

I agree. I love that it’s stock and the mileage is quite low which is why I’m ok with paying on the high side of the curve. Based on our agreed price it comes out to the high side with the added expense of picking it up or getting it delivered.

I suggest you pick it up before somebody else will. It’s not like there’s a never ending inventory of these things in stock form and low miles. It’s getting to be quite a task to find one in that criteria, but I’m sure you’re already aware of that.

Forget about delivery, fly out, pick it up and drive this beast home yourself! Nothing like a long road trip to get familiar with your new car.

Anyways, good luck and hopefully it’ll end up in your garage hehe

I agree - I sent him a deposit and now waiting on wire instructions to finalize everything. I’m having him put on a new set of Michelin PSS’s b/c I won’t need the winter tires currently mounted on that puppy.

lol you will if you’re driving it home from Toronto

Very true but I decided to have it shipped. As much I like the idea of driving it home, the thought of it showing up in my driveway is more appealing.

I drove my B7 S4 home from Atlanta. It was a fun little adventure.

by the way it snowed about half an inch just about 50 miles north of Toronto last night. Poor suckers. And in Quebec City they have about 3" on the ground!

That is awesome, now going to wait for that arrival pic for you to post before I congratulate! I can’t recall, but did u get rid of your B7 S4 or you still have it?

Thank you! I did unload my B7 S4 for a 2015 Q7 TDI one year ago today. Some probably thought I was crazy b/c the diesel issue was in full bloom at the time but I got it a huge discount plus the 2017 Q7’s were on the way over. I still have my B5 S4 Avant but I miss my B7. I always had intentions of picking up a RS b/c I think it’s one of the best daily drivers out there.

Im sure that empty spot will be filled quite nicely when that RS4 comes in. Great pick up. Congrats

So I’ve been going round and round with Livingston International in an attempt to get it shipped and they are insisting this is now a Canadian car b/c a Canadian citizen bought the car and imported it to Canada. The car is a US spec car from bumper to bumper originally imported to the United States (Connecticut). I guess I need to either work with another broker or go pick the damn thing up myself. I’m not paying duty and whatever other additional charges apply to what they refer to as a Canadian car simply b/c a Canadian citizen owned it for the last 12 months or so. Shit, I’m a Canadian Citizen with a Permanent Resident card. They seem to be focusing on the owner and not the car. Unless I’m missing something it seems they just can’t wrap their heads around it.

contact the guy on audizine who started a thread about this

let me know if I can help. Happy to drive it somewhere for you. I live 40 minutes from the car and the car is 90 minutes from the border.

Or if you come into town and want a tourguide, just let me know.

Thanks Ian!

The guy on Audizine brought it home himself and I have his link saved with the appropriate forms required so this might be my best bet. It seems pretty easy and straight forward. The owner looked into bringing it through Buffalo so I didn’t have to go through that process but after reading the audizine thread it doesn’t seem to overwhelming. Though even when I visit I get tense just crossing the border! I was born in Burlington, I visit every once in a while but a tour guide is always good! I’ll be in touch if I need any help. Thanks again.
