In interest of keeping this on track, Ill answer your question and likely put everything to rest. I went to Cars and Coffee today with a friend. Saw his car there, ended up meeting him. It was a fouled spark plug that was causing his issue at H2oi and Im sure in the interest of saving a motor IN CASE something was actually wrong, he decided to park it for the weekend. As for the towing it to a shop hundreds of miles away… he took it to RS Worx which is who has always done work for him. As for the trans being out Im guessing some of you saw the receipt he posted for the JHM rebuild kit. If there are any issues with the car, Id be impressed, because that thing moves. I think Euroswagr might have been there?
I have my bentley manual up and running but need to get intouch with them so I can deactivate one of my old codes. Then timing chains etc will come off since I will likely have to pull the crank and get it polished.
Haha, I was there…but when I walked past his car there were a few guys taking pictures of it and I doubt any of them were him. My wife and I spent most of the time in the main lot and we grabbed some food. I didn’t even go back to the lot where I parked until I left. I wonder who you have to give a handy to in order to park in the main lot…they wouldn’t let me in there and there were tons of spots. Not to sound like an elitist…lol but my car was nicer than probably 95% of the cars in that lot. I mean they had tons of ricers in there, oh well. I like to look at cars more than having my car in a busy area.
What did you drive? Too bad we didn’t meet.
The only problem I have is at this point FT can’t ever be honest with us…even you. You post here frequently and this site is everything he hates. If he did have any issues we would never hear about it.
Sadly we don’t need him to admit anything because it really doesn’t look good for APR.
Meme- blown
GRD- multiple blown supposedly
Pitstopmotortuning-having a ton of issues, smoke and underpowered (1200miles on the kit, 20k on the car)
Guys like him hold the platform back and that is the last thing a low production platform needs. He is egocentric, only cares about trophies, followers, likes, photo shoots. That stuff is cool, his car looked great (I’m not a fan of the new look) but he is chasing the “scene” too much.
He is exactly like his buddy badblue…
This is the how they feel
[quote=badbooboo]why do you or anyone else care about “exposing” any company for “scamming” others into products?
leave that responsibility to the buyer. if they have bad experience, leave it to them to post about it if they wish. if it happens to more people then it will be known and people can decide whether they want to buy any of their products based on their own research on that information.

If AR had a creed, it would be the polar opposite of that quote. That is the reason why most of use reside here and bring technical knowledge, just like you do. We support each other and the platform, not the company that gives us the biggest discount.
doing good on this project man. question… did u buy the complete second car also?
I remember when the first car was up for sale on Craigslist. I think they were calling $17k. I’ve talked to the owner a couple times when he had the car. saw it at few local meets out here

Don’t get me started on the show set up. If you don’t get there by like 9:30 they start blocking it off. I have been going since it started a couple years ago and was located in the promenade shops. It was great back then, people showed up, parked anywhere mingled etc. Then idiots started showing up and doing burnouts, racing etc and they got kicked out and moved to steel stacks and ever since then have attracted “lower quality” cars and tried to be organized. I showed up and saw 4 spots clearly visible from the road, asked the guy if I could park there and got a no. Moved on, and see him let a chick in a beat up wrx behind me in. Ask the next guy at the back entrance of the main lot, he says no, I go park and am walking back to see some pissed off guy giving him some flack about not letting nice cars in when there are still spots. He then began letting people in ::). I took the 65, it was parked at the back of the main lot. I was mostly in the main lot and along the road with my buddy who is a photographer so we were getting pictures of cars leaving.
I did, it was another that was wrecked and I got it cheap enough that I was pretty confident I would at least break even if the engine was F’d. And yea I saw the car on craigslist too, listed at 19k at the time. Called the guy to talk to him and get a feel on how much he was willing to move. He said he had offers at 17K and was waiting because he started the car and it ran fine :D. I was like well good luck with that because the engine has a spun bearing and a cracked oil pump and is probably just causing more damage. I ended up purchasing it when he put it back up for auction, and no I didn’t pay anywhere near either of those numbers. My end goal has and probably always will be to do an avant conversion but I don’t know if I have the energy to go through all of that.

avant conversion is the ultimate man. I wish it was avant
APR had a black avant at their booth with Virginia plates a few years back. I wonder what happened to that one. and with the wrecked cars u have I say why the hell not go and build an avant.
There is a black RS4 avant in Maryland. It hangs out at the Alberdeen NGP racing location. It has factory Ceramic front brakes and the APR 1320 SC. The guy imported it a few years ago. Probably the same car as what you are thinking about.
Yea pretty sure that’s all the same car. I thought the story behind that is the guy move to the US for work and that’s why he has been able to keep it here…
Is it still here? I remember hearing from someone that the owner moved to the states brought the car with him and had the charger installed, ( I believe you can only get a year permit on bringing a vehicle in, then needs to be shipped back) he ended up moving back and having the car shipped back with him, although this is from a forum I don’t know how long ago, so I could be wrong.
It was still at NGP as of the beginning of this month. The owner who brought stateside installed APR supercharger on it and recently sold it to someone in Spain. It’ll be leaving states for sure to the new owner in Spain. Such a shame we never got this beauty here.
I’m waiting for someone to convert B7 S4 Avant to RS4 fully that is including guts hehe I know kneedragger over on AZ sold his exterior conversion to someone. Never understood why he didn’t swap in motor, he had two of them. Also, fatbrembos is selling his. Hopefully someone will do a proper conversion one day.
In the interest of waking that back up again, let’s look at it another way based on the evidence at hand from an impartial third party’s point of view, not the story the guy paid by APR told you.
Car is spewing loads of smoke at a show. He said it’s normal, and might be a coil pack.
Rather than fix it at an audi show where everyone has plugs and packs and vagcom and tools, including the company who paid him for use of his car, the car is instead towed 200 miles across 3 States for a ‘bad spark plug’?
Owner has coincidentally(?) recently bought at least 2 RS4 engines.
Photo of the car was accidentally posted on Facebook by his shop showing the motor out
Photo was almost immediately deleted and never addressed since
3 weeks later car is up and running at cars and coffee, thus ‘it was fine all along’ (lol)
So no, what you said put nothing to rest.
Anyway who cares, he will never give the full story. Fortunately Apr has blown up plenty of other RS4s with the kit and did the right thing taking the kit off the market, so the RS4 community no longer needs to hear/confirm about FT’s car blowing up.
Who is the one providing the information that he bought 2 engines recently?
Did he not post a video of the car running the following week?
Who saw the picture that RSworx posted? (pretty good timing for a rather small community of forum members to see)

both started out with B7 S4’s that they purchased for probably 25K+. Add paint, labor, parts into that and you can easily approach 20K depending on your sources, hook ups etc. Add in an RS4 with a running motor. That puts you at a minimum of 50-60K the way they approached it. And you can’t just swap in a motor. Entire body harness has to be swapped. There are much better ways to go about it, but its still a lot of work.
