I am looking into two possible track options currently. Not as a rental due to cost, but to attend a test and tune session. Both tracks are about 1.5 hours from the Meadowlands Casino. As soon as I hear back from the track reps, I will post back up what the TnT times, dates, and costs are.
All of the event organizers involved, not just myself, very much understand that there are different tastes when it comes to the types of cars we own and the types of activities we want to participate in. This is a very young event, comparitively speaking, and we try very hard to have an inclusive atmosphere. The shit talking will always happen, but for the most part it is all in good fun.
Full disclosure, my car has been and will always be slow. GGG20T is the only person I have walked awy from consistantly.

Good for you this is an appropriate reaction. Taking responsibility and invoking change will always break down walls. The Outlaw Garrett just makes all of you guys look like fools. Constantly acting in a fashion that directly mirrors the stereotypes of the B5 crowd isn’t going to do anything but continue to make the B5 crowd look bad.

MDUBZ - I posted that picture up to get a few laughs and ease the tension that started off so quickly in that thread. A thread that was initially posted to promote some sort of community between everybody on both forums. I made no rash comments, I simply wanted to make people laugh on the forum that I consider to be my home! My apologies if it offended you.
i would consider making the drive but only if there was a drag strip involved. for me its a 5.5 hour drive so I wouldn’t want to just get there to do more driving. id wanna get out eat check out other peoples cars do some passes and then maybe a cruise.

That’s the exact “divider” I’m talking about. You’re promoting this event in the hopes of growing it into something respectable. But then at the same time you’re acting like an immature teenager when somebody is trying to be honest about the event and how it looks. You say you did it for laughs, but that’s also what kids say when they get caught by an adult doing something wrong. If you want to attract all, or at least most, Audi enthusiasts to your event, rent out a track and do it legally. Either that or change the name. The attitude of all the big dick swingers definitely doesn’t help your cause either. You can’t control what they say, but you can control your support for their actions. Posting that picture just showed you’re on their level. There are plenty more people that’d come if you did this right, but you haven’t and looks like it probably will happen again. The track costing too much is no excuse to put people’s lives at risk on public roads.

MDUBZ - I wholeheartedly agree with what you are saying and I do know that I get carried away with the inexcusable level of immaturity displayed on AZ from time to time. As i said earlier, my apologies if I offended you as it was an child-like display of humor, honestly. I’m used to giving my friends crap on Audizine or at home, but I do not know you, so i fundamentally had no right to make that picture. As I’m sure sjmelling or mileman can attest, I am actually a friendly person that truly does respect all car enthusiasts.
Onto the matter with the track. I understand your concern with the name of the event, and as it was covered earlier, the name was simply a joke playing off of Fast & Furious (obviously). I don’t think it’s too late to hold a drag strip event as sjmelling (steve) mentioned. Steve can you chime in on that? is there something I could do to help out to make that possible as it does seem to be a recurring question. I too agree that it would be a wiser decision to hold the event at a drag - strip that is located north of Pittsburgh. We could still do the cruise on Sunday.

Awesome. This is what I like to see. I appreciate the apology, and I can appreciate the fact that you guys are working to improve the event and make it something for all to enjoy. And I’m not offended by what is said to me/about me on the forums. Trust me, like you, if you saw how I talk to my best friend in person and vice versa, you’d think we were mortal enemies. Nothing wrong with a little friendly shit talking here and there, let’s just not get carried away. It’s a little harder to mess with people without misinterpretations when you’re not face to face.

I saw ST8Blast (APR1740 RS4) mention something on AZ about possibly coming. I think he would definitely be down to run at the strip. I’m pretty serious about coming if you guys decide to meet for a T&T that weekend. I’ll stop in an see my family and then head back East.
