I don’t mean time records. I mean number of b5 guys who actually post their times after hitting the strip. It’s always the same… 4 or 5 b5 guys go…and then we never see the timeslips. Like when the AMD cars all went to shut up the guys (like me) who said amd+epl just doesn’t work. Sure enough the 4 cars went and went silent. No slips. Jason posted trap speeds and hoped nobody would notice. We did. They all went mid 12s (or worse) despite making 400, 500 and 600 whp on Jason’s ‘tough’ dyno.

So if 3 cars or more post their timeslips that will be a new b5 s4 record. I am eagerly anticipating updating the b5 part of the list.

I don’t get it…Daz is the one we are talking about.

He is the thief from N E F that offers to “fix” people’s tunes from APR, GIAC, JHM, etc…in reality he is copying them or changing them slightly.

What exactly has he done for the B5 community again?

Guy is cancer. Search the forum, it has been posted and addressed. Plenty of examples of him offering to help guys once he knows they have a tune he wants. You name it. Then he copies it.

Then he’s busy ‘helping’ people tune their cars (not for free).

Oh haha I was thinking it was a John Dillenger thievery reference. I didn’t know that ‘tuner’ dillenger had that reputation on forums. He got big on the B5 facebook page after I had sold mine. He’s regarded as tune master there…everyone seems happy but I know nothing of his legitimacy or quality other than what I have read here and the great reviews that are always popping up on facebook.

Apparently this guy passed away last week in his sleep. I never knew him or dealt with him. A lot of people i speak to says he was a good guy and a great tuner. I know some of you felt different. Just thought id pass the info along.

hwut? He stole from umpteen tuning companies, and rejigged their tunes and sold as his own. Sometimes he just straight sold pirated ECU tunes and didn’t hide it. “I can include another ECU that is loaded with all APR program switching”.

He also never had a single car run a single good time on any platform. So…just wondering why anyone would say he’s a great tuner.

The ‘great guy’ part depends on who you were. One of the companies he stole from? Not a great guy. One of the guys he sold stolen tunes to for pennies on the dollar of what the original tuner charged? Great guy! Helping poor kids tune their cars when they can’t afford it.

Death is never good though. He must have been pretty young no? I particularly liked the post by his business partners where they kept reiterating that this is not a joke. Is that how B5 guys write obituaries?

LOL at getting some negative karma after posting this. i didnt know the guy or have an opinion of him. If he really did steal then thats shitty. i just mentioned that a few people here had bad opinions of him (for what i didnt know until now) but a lot of other people regarded him as some master tuner. i just posted the info in here about him passing.

Just to be abundantly clear. Its not IF he stole but that HE did without a even remote doubt steal. Its not just a few that have bad opinions here. A good mount of this community have the same opinion on him and his shitty morals. He was a convicted fellon that went under a different name to his his continued actions of being a con artist. He stole and cheated several domestic diiesel guys out of money the list goes on and on.

The few low moral guys who benifited from his cheating hardworking companys will say something. The actual fact of the matter is several people got fucked over by him in the audi community. and not just the companys that he stole from or the people he stole from.

As for being a good tuner that is one of the biggest laughs. HE was only as good as the last tune he stole.

You came here in this thread and posted about his great reputation, then today said you didn’t know why people here didn’t care much for his business ethics. How could you not know? You came to this thread to make this post…the very fucking thread where DDillinger’s history was extensively discussed.

my karma level has been 18 for a long time so when it changed it stuck out. This thread is old, and when i googled and searched this site about the name not much really comes up (i knew ive heard it before). I know the whole story about Jfonz because he has an entire thread dedicated. But Daz all i know is the little in here and another thread.

I didnt post he has a great reputation. I said i happen to know 10 or so people who think the guy was great. Did nothing but talk very highly of him. I would hardly call that me posting he has a great reputation. I also WAS NOT sticking up for this guy. i dont know where the hell you came up with that. Actually the fact that i said " i didnt know the guy or have an opinion of him" means exactly that. Other than hear say from people on this site people that i have been around i knew nothing about the guy. For all i know everyone here is lying because of a personal fallout and he didnt steal. (i dont believe that one bit but im just making a point that im seeing two different sides to a story).

Justin seems to have summed it up very well above though. That’s pretty shitty of him to screw people over and even go as far as changing himself and doing it all over again. Im assuming he is the one that tuned Dante’s car which if is the case is funny because he touted himself as “going to have the fastest b5 etc” and barely made it across the line when you saw him in Michigan.

And as far as my father is concerned, he is his own person and voices his own opinion. But unlike that situation i am in not sticking up for Daz.

Speaking of Jfonz, he is apparently working for a shop with a good name, Solo Motorsports in Atlanta. Apparently they do a lot of custom tunes on their in-house rollers as well as all kinds of other modifications and custom work.

Ya, that is not new news either. They (solo) have made quite a few bold statements and prime called them out and issued a challenge. They failed to deliver to date or take him up on any offer to back claims in the b8/8.5 world.

Yeah i fully agree with you here. They did try talking some shit about the b8 platform and when Prime openly and i believe privately called them out they just ignored it. They do seem to do a lot of tunes there yet dont really give a lot data. Every time they are supposed to do the 1/4 mile another excuse happens.

I do know they are more worried about the 1/2 mile because thats what they like to compete in, regardless they really back up their talk which is a no no.
