Nice! You should notice that. I shaved off ~8lbs on my B8 S4 when I got OZ wheels and I did notice it a bit. Lighter rotating mass ftw!
I need to figure out my summers eventually (stock 5 rotor arm will get All Season duty).

what’s an 810? some sort of special formed flow cast or something?
ET35 should look nice and aggressive on an A6 What’s stock…around 45-48?
Flow formed
Originally I was going to get the OZ Ultraleggera HLTs but they are more expensive, don’t look as good IMO, and the offset was not very aggressive. Plus, I wasn’t sure about bbk clearance. I ordered the VMRs with a custom powder coat for less than the OZs would have cost me and both sets of wheels weigh virtually the same.
I watched, there were some great fights. It was cool to see Mirko in the ring again.
The Kiria v Ristie fight was great, what a comeback
Indeed, that was impressive.
Why everyone should watch sx…JS7. Landed this flat at Daytona.
when you have to pit for a new header, gotta make up the time somewhere!
between bubba and bam bam, it was a pretty entertaining race. any other mx/sx watchers here, can’t just be wellarmed and I?
LOL that’s awesome. Love the Japan reference.
Very good! The “personality change” made me LOL.
Didnt want to start a new thread…
Do you think that service/maitanence costs between a 2008 RS4 and 2014 S3 would be more, less or the same?
The S3 would be manual
RS4 more
Thats what i thought, thanks Saki
even if you get audicare for the S3, it’s a better deal per year than regular RS4 maintenance.
Brake rotors, brakes pads, 10L oil changes, $80 fuel filters, 8 spark plugs, 8 coil packs, carbon cleaning bi annually, not to mention using probably an extra $1000 a year of petrol, and I reckon the RS4 will never be the better financial decision maintenance wise.
Depreciation wise on the other hand, the S3 will depreciate about 40% over the next 3.5 years, and I would submit that an RS4 would depreciate half that. If they’re worth the same today, that could amount to $5-10,000 in savings.
I sold my B7 S4 in 2011 and bought an Rs4. If I sold my Rs4 today at market rate for medium mileage Audi warranty Rs4, it would mean my cost to own the car, depreciation wise, has been about $300/month for those 2.5 years. That was for a 3 year old Rs4 with 3 years of warranty on it. Not bad when you consider that a new B8 S4 (around the same price to buy at the time I bought my Rs4) would cost most people about $700/month in depreciation through that same period. Even a used 2010 B8 S4 bought back in 2011 would have depreciated about $550-600/month.
People often focus on purchase price for cars, but unless you will drive it till it’s worthless, you must always consider anticipated resale value. Rare cars FTW where that is concerned.
Yeah i figured as much with the RS4, was just confirming my suspision.
I am looking at getting the S3 sedan in 6-10 months time and well the RS4 on the used market here is the same as buying a new S3 - so i was just weighing up my options, and i happen to watch the JHM video again.
But thinking about it from a financial point of view, maintence would be more exspensive, fuel would be more exspensive and insurance is another $80-$100 more a month on the RS4 than an S3.
Interesting point on the depreciation rate of the 2 vehicles, our used car market is a funny thing, especially when it comes to hot Audi’s. I think that both the cars will remain at the same price until the RS4 hits the low 40’s where it will hover for a bit and then go up slightly.
sit in the backseat of a new a3 and have a friend sit comfortably in the front… then decide. Lol I did that and am now reconsidering, as that was my plan as well.
haha
Well its not like my B6 has a roomy back seat either and i would imagine that the RS4 with the bucket seats would have less.
my work car which is a Veloster Turbo has more room than my B6 in the back.

I’d get a quote on the insurance. You might be shocked. I wouldn’t be surprised if the RS4 was equal if not less than a S3.
Insurance is thinking about “who” is buying a car, how it’s used, and how much it’s driven.
New cars are typically lease cars vs purchased, and something like a RS4 is much more likely to be a 2nd car for someone, and typically by someone more financially secure as they are essentially buying an expensive garage toy rather than filling a need as a commuter car.
The primary buyers of new S3’s will probably be young adults making a lease and one of their first “fast” German cars. Not a good combination for insurance companies lol.
When I went from my B7 S4 to my 911 turbo, insurance actually went down a couple hundred bucks a year (which I was already pretty cheap, 3 cars for ~1900/annual I think). But it’s bc that car is a weekend toy used in good weather and people avoid racking miles up on them (typically). It was shocking though bc I was well prepared for a jump since I’m still young, went from a cheaper to more expensive car by 2fold+, and went from a sports sedan to an 2dr ultra sports car that is all-round more expensive. (And I put no limitations on driving it either)
It’s all about playing the numbers game with the whole market included.
Saki’s point about depreciation is huge though. And that was a big contender for me since I only plan on owning it for ~3yrs. I also looked at a CTS-V, B8 S4, RS4 (somewhat), and some other cars. All of those are specialty cars, but didn’t check the right boxes for me at this time, and I felt like I would have very little if any depreciation on the 911. I wouldn’t be surprised if a RS4 is my next move in a couple of years.
re: insurance, since I just went through it. At least state side its definitely more important who is driving vs what is being driven (within reason, the collectible car insurance policies may be different). I traded in my Jeep that would cost $10k to replace for the Golf R at likely $30k market value and my policy only bumped up ~$20/month
