Shooting Shit Thread

I don’t think I ever posted a pic of the SCAR after I said I would.

I got a Pelican flight case last time I visited my brother (checked it in).

I added a grip pod up front and modified a Magpul grip to fit on the SCAR (way better than the stock grip).

Bought a SIG 1911!

Now I have three pistols!

My SIG Sauer 1911. Love this gun!

How you do that slo mo vid?

That’s neat to watch. Are shell casings hot? Would suck if one we t down the back of your shirt.

iPhone 6 has a slow-mo camera mode.

The casings are hot for a short while. So if you have one fall on your neck or on the inside of your elbow, it does suck lol.

But they cool down pretty quickly.

Cool vid, PsYk.

I’ve never had a casing go down my my shirt - but man that would probably suck.

oh yeah, good point

Most of the time when we have weapon quals in the military, we shoot in groups on a firing line. Most portions are single shot, but we also have rapid fire portions of our quals. Sometimes, for an unfortunate few, the back of the neck of your utilities opens up just enough to catch a freshly expelled piece of brass from your friend to the lefts M16/M4 right on the back of the neck. In ten years I never had it happened to me, but in 10 years ever single range I was on it happened to at least one person. It usually leaves a pretty nice welt/scar. If you flag the line in that scenario be prepared to get kicked from the range and unqualified (which will affect promotion/advancement).

The bad part is we fuck with each other pretty bad. I was also a marksmanship coach and sometimes it’s pretty boring, especially if your guys are pretty good at shooting. So when bored…we would stand behind the shooters, catch hot brass and then quickly throw it to one of the shooter daydreaming behind us on the ready benches waiting for their turn to fire. Natural reaction is to catch what was thrown at you, but it takes a few seconds for a person to realize that their hand is burning, lol. We were idiots…

At indoor ranges the AK’s and Ar’s bounce off the divider walls and come back at you sometimes. I’ve had a couple hit my ear and forehead.

I just noticed how hard the SIG 1911 ejects the empty casing (compared to my 9mm and my other .45). You can see it bouncing off pretty hard from the stall partition.

Is this common to 1911s?

I’ve had some casings hit me on the head after bouncing lol.

This is what I was also going to mention. I had one land on the back of my neck. It was winter too and I was wearing a hooded sweatshirt so it had something to keep it there. That definitely hurts.

My friend’s brother had that happen to him but with a 9mm casing. He was screaming and dancing around like a little girl!

Are those all yours.

jesus, theres my next diy, mounting that sucker to the hood of my rs lol.

Why are there pens in the guns?

they should change that to ‘there are murders here’

That’s awesome. And reassuring. Funny how the tiny red parts (my hometown included) are where a lot of the homicides occur.

To hold them up most likely

Some of these gun laws just show how out of touch law makers are. The one thing I can say I think everyone is thinking when looking at this picture. Is you need more clips.

You can never have too many mags! ;D
