SIX6SIX - Intro Thread/Saga of S6 V10 Ownership

WOW thanks for posting pictures. The exhaust looks fantastic.

Rasp and gurrbling exhaust along with drone is what all of us hate when it comes to aftermarket exhaust systems. Now you see why so many of us were strongly chanting for everyone to get the JHM exhaust. As its been said they actually developed the exhaust for this car to assure great sound and performance.

I tried to open the link it didnt work for me ill try it later tonight.

excited for you keep us posted

Yeah I guess I need to find someone with a GoPro lol… Sounds amazing but I can’t properly catch the sound on my phone when it’s freezing outside (not trying to ride with windows all the way down). Maybe this weekend or something. I’ll try to remember to do a cold start vid in the morning.

Okay… Updates…

  1. JHM Tune/Flash installed today. Immediate difference in the sound of the engine, and thus the exhaust sounds different. Got less than 10 miles on the car since flashed, so will follow up after some more seat time.

  2. OEM Carbon Fiber RS6 Grill (and associated ACC panel that was super hard to find) installed today…

WOW great updates. The grill looks fantastic. It really goes well with the color off set.

As for the tune. I always enjoyed the fact that the JHM tune has not only a huge jump in performance but a sweet sound even when you just start up and let the car idle. Its the little things that show your a real car guy. Not many people notice the tone and pitch of the car.

Excited to hear your thoughts on the tune. So far its shaping up to the part of the must haves to really tie everything in.

Just a few things to remember.

1 the JHM tune takes away the closing of the port flaps and keeps them open. It also removes the tq restriction down low so now you have a TON or the full ability of the motor off idle. So keep that in mind when leaving from a stop. You dont need to give the car as much gas and on top of that there isnt a delay in the throttle input anymore.

Those list of things usually takes a few drives to get used to. Also the ECU seems to take a few days to adapt and what I have seen is that the car will actually get faster over the next few days of driving.

Yeah, there’s a definite difference in throttle input sensitivity as well as the increase in low end torque. It seems to waft along with a bit less effort off throttle. But yes, I’m looking for reasons to drive all the time lol.

And here’s a cold start vid…

Love the sound. Thanks for posting that up.

I read through this thread when you posted the link on AZ but didn’t get a chance to respond until now. The car looks and sounds great!

Thanks. Its been a journey lol. New fuel pumps ordered just in case there’s another hiccup. ECS CF paddle shifters installed though.

piano black dash ajd rs6 pedals never showed up and its been a fuckin nightmare dealing with paypal and ebay even though they know for a fact that i never received anything. So thats $600 in the air… shakes fist in anger

Paddles look nice! How do they feel compared to stock? Might just be me, but I cannot view the video anymore?

The new paddles look great.

Nice! Do the + and - light up like the stock ones do? Sucks about the dash!

Sorry I took the vid down a couple days after. I’ll see about getting someone to do a proper a recording sometime soon. Or maybe see borrow a gopro from someone.

Thanks. They add a bit more of a special feeling to the whole experience. The exhaust and all the CF additions really make it seem and feel like a much more expensive car (although I guess it would’ve been much more expensive if it came from the factory like this originally). Nonetheless, it feels like I’m driving an exotic car as a daily, and this comes from someone that’s never owned an exotic car, sooo (lol)… anyway…

Nope, they don’t but somehow you can still see the +/- in the dark. Not quite bright like the night sights on a pistol but they stand out. Feel is great. Normal strong/solid action. The ECS CF paddles are a full replacement for the factory components so the wheel has to come off/apart. Took mechanic like an hour total I think.

Thats great to hear.

Sure you might not have owned a exotic but you know what you would expect in owning on and how you would want it to feel and to react. So its cool to hear all of these really nice changes are able to bring out how the car should have really been offered from the factory.

Okay, so I reposted a vid that includes a cold start and some light garage revving while in neutral with foot on brake…

Here’s a side/rear view of the ECS tuning Carbon Fiber paddles. Now that they’re on, I wish I would’ve had them painted before installation to hide the logos. Still nice though I guess since it’s unlikely theyll1be seen from behind much.

Also, here’s a better view of the OEM RS6 carbon fiber grill, and the CF door blades.

Still no luck on getting the RS6 piano black dash, pedals, etc but I’ll keep hope alive that I’ll get the product or my money back someday.

just take dash panel to good painter and paint it in black, that is my plan ;D

Yeah I was thinking that, but the money is gone now lol… I may just wait out of principle. poors a little apple juice out for my orders and all the other ebay orders lost along the way lol

New exhaust vid (driving) pieced together today…

Just beautiful. If there were such a thing as “doing the S6 right”, then you’re definitely in that category. Your S6 looks beautiful, sounds great and makes my desire to get one of these beasts that much more! It seems that the end result makes even suffering through the nightmare worth while. Thanks for keeping us updated with your build - it’s nothing short of fucking awesome! lol
