You mind racing my silver car on wastegate while i’m on race gas lol! Looks beautiful, I’m super excited for you. Hopefully you can set some records in your class this year!
Lol, thanks a lot man. I think I saw you mention that you aren’t bringing the tial monster to NY? Too bad, would have been nice to have another s4 at the events. I’m hoping that I can shed at least 150+lbs from the car even with the cage in it. Lighter the better to lessen the shock on the drivetrain. I’ll have all four DSS axles and their driveshaft too, so we’ll move the breaking down the line. I’m tossing ideas on addressing rear somehow. I can’t wait to get the car retuned and finally make a full decent pass. I appreciate the words Reid.
Pics are worth a million words when it comes to your build.
Glad you decided to go with the proven DSS axles and center shaft, they should hold up to the abuse.
If you end up going the Skyline R32-R34 rear end route, let me know, I have access to a bunch of them at less than $200 each, same final drive ratio which I am certain you already know.
a damn, yeah I was hoping for some good racing… New England Dragway is mostly old muscle cars for fast cars, which I love, but its cool seeing some fast euros (fastest euro I’ve seen at NED is an E30 with a blown BBC lol).
I am trying to get Tweets a garage out there for the summer or at least spring and begining of the summer. It is fun to have a release from the normal stress with a car around, something to detail tweak in and go release some endorphins while rowing throught the gears! Well see how the rest of winter pans out for ole S6Atron! ahah
Sorry haven’t updated in a while, things got busy for me, and they had to finish a big block twin 6766 Chevelle. Real sick car by the way. Here’s a couple pictures, the mabifold needs one more pass on 2 welds I think, then a little on the t4 flange:
Siiiiick. I still don’t know flanges and their significance yet. I know it is a size thing. But when someone says “T3” I don’t have a great understanding of its capabilities. Any insights?
moar pics please! great seeing this build progress.
I second adding any technical info you can as many here always are wanting to learn more, and pics of the chevelle are welcome if your allowed to share them.
Kevin Black is getting the first shot at it, since he has been my tuner for a while now… I will share a lot of tech info when I find free time. In the mean time, here’s the chevelle.
Reid, T25, T3, T4, T6 are in reference to the size of the inlet/flange on the turbo. That’s smallest to largest obviously… Then they can come divided for a twin scroll turbine housing like the T4 flange on my manifold. I however won’t be running a twin scroll housing this season, but it gives me the option to in the future.
It looks like a ton of room and there is up top where the turbos are sitting… But under by the exhaust ports on the drivers side is the steering shaft running right through, It made that side a real pain in the ass to make the manifolds. The car is amazing, the attention to detail is unreal, you should see under this thing… Look at the rad brackets on top there, orange CF custom brackets… Everything is done right, it’s really a show car mostly… The piping is done now.
