So a GIAC tuned car on 91 makes 404whp and 341wtq... ROTFLMAO...

those headers do look pretty damn sweet. its unfortunate that these will probably break the bank lol. supersprint stuff is absurdly expensive. my guess for the non catted version is $3500-4000 and prob another $1500 for the hjs catted version. im REALLY curious tho how the think they can get the stock parts out without dropping the motor. im a little skeptical about that part

Yeah though the last time I went to them they charged their hourly rate but did 11 pulls so…

You must be talking about the short headers, I wonder if they would mate up properly to the 034 HFC’s?

P.S. I got the ball rolling on AW. ;D

Supersprint makes $4000 catbacks and 5000 dollar headers…and they don’t work

Pass.

^^Really!

What platform was that on? I’d like to read up on it.

the super pretty rs4 headers made a super low 10-15hp for a super high price

super…

Supersprint next to stock. Boy they are pretty

Threads like those are the reason I barely go to Audizine and love AR. GIAC, TAG, and Raven all looked foolish. It’s a shame that is how they do business.

Love me some superskint

(skint is what you’ll be if you buy that stuff)

Ouch, those things are hurting beside the stock ones. Not good when your aftermarket “performance” part looks like a step down

stockers are the tri-y headers (the brown ones)

the supersprint always shines up nice. At least they had the decency to say ‘fuck this RS4 stuff…it didn’t work’.

Kinda like APR with the M90 kit they made for the B6. All the time and money…and they junked it. I like seeing a company do that. The number of ideas JHM has binned is pretty funny. They try everything to find power.

Yeah… based on my limited research it seems Supersprint made three different prototypes and none of them made it into production. They claimed that the car made nice power on the street (not sure what they means, butt dyno perhaps) but the dynos said a different story.

I did checkout the price of their exhausts and it seem they sell them in pieces with the entire set reaching about $4,500 (ough)!

i will say though… the intake manifold on the apr blower was the prettiest ive seen… it looked soooooo aggressive to bad it flopped

I saw one of the prototypes…and spoke to the guy they contacted for help making it work. Was pretty funny that they didn’t listen to him from the beginning (he told them day one DO NOT USE THE EATON M90). They’ve also ‘contacted’ him for other projects since.

Maybe he’ll post about that here one day

More dynos from vendors…

I trust AWE much more than these other “independent” testers so to say but will be nice to see some true paying customer #'s… Also, would be nice if AWE gave more details than just a cropped dyno, like fuel, tranny, rpm sclae, etc.

Our boy Tyson is supposedly running Sat. at the strip… Should be intereting…

lol AWE is selling the tune. They’re a GIAC dealer. They hate APR.

I trust none of it.

I trust an independant dyno to tell me what the car would dyno (but not how fast it will be)
I trust the dragstrip to tell me how fast the car will be (but not how powerful it is)

Once guys figure that out, the B8 will take off. I think you guys have it mostly figured out but too many dyno detail lovers enjoy pouring over excruciating minutae WAY too much…they’ll always be there to weigh the progress down.

In many ways, we B6/7 owners are lucky - JHM are the only game in town. Yes they are far away but it’s worth it.

For B8 owners, the 3 tunes are much of muchness. As an ardent armchair commentator, I say get the one that your going to get easiest support for. For me, that would be APR as there’s an APR dealer in town.

Having said that, it should be our duty as a community to get 3 members with b8’s and straight out race the 3 at the strip. No sponsorship, no shills, no funny fuel, just straight up 93. Who’s game?

I’m game of any race any time.

as far as the jhm thing… i don’t know when you picked up your car but this same madness happened then too. there were many chip showdowns and bickering on who could get the next 10 hp cookie cutter tune and motodyne anyone? it wasn’t till the cars started falling out of warranty that jim picked up the platform a good 3-4 years after the b6 came out. the dust settled and people began to accept the fact that these cars will never be what the b5 was. now a good 8 years after the b6 was introduced are people realizing that not only are they truly contenders but soon enough they will be beating the fastest b5 times out there.
one day the same will be for the b8, the issue with the b8 is gaining the access, once its a normal practice and most of these cars are well out of warranty maybe jhm will jump in ;D.

You’d need 3 bone stock MT6 cars all to get tuned. No intakes, no other mods. Just the tune. Then you’d need them to have empty tanks so we could fill them with 93 from the same station (and hope the guys don’t cheat somehow)

then you’d need to do a ton of pulls to eliminate driver error, and you’d need to send them down the strip

I’d suggest DSG to take driver error out of it, but thee DSG software seesm to be hellbent on ruining everything to do with consistency as far as gear changes are concerned.

http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2561421&highlight=chip+shoot&page=2 this page look familiar lol
http://www.audiworld.com/news/05/b6dynoawe/ even then the supercharged cars were making the same excuses lol

and the fact that http://motodyne.com/ still exists is just beyond me.
