So back from the dragstrip... another new best...

Went to the strip again today…

Car: 2010 Audi S4 - DSG with sports dif, 5,625 miles, 1/8 tank of gas, tools and spare removed

Mods: APR beta race gas tune, APR pulley, LFC’s, miltek non-res exhaust, custom intake, APR CPS, front and rear sways, BBS CHR’s, tire pressure 34F 28R

Conditions: 48F, 42% humidity, 30.18 BP… DA was 550… DA was much better than last week so I was very optimistic…

Ran a total of 6 passes… could have run much more but needed the gas to barely limp home! LOL Oh well…

Run 1:
Nice clean pass after a 1 hour cool down but not the best result, ran a 12.02 at 117.12 I am now convinced this car runs best at a normal operating temp not a cool temp…

Run 2:
Another nice clean pass and I knew I had a new best as soon as I went through the traps… 11.8455 at 118.04! Cut a 1.6416 60ft time… I was stoked when I picked up the slip… This was a hot lap pass and the oil temp was 190…

Run 3:
Another nice clean pass and I backed the 11.84 up with an 11.87 at 118.34!

Run 4:
Do to limited cars they put me in the lane I don’t like but whatever… Clean pass and it felt good and sure enought BOOM! 11.79233! I was really excited… Trap was down though to 116.39… Little bummed about that but whatever…

Run 5:
Got the dreaded 1-2 hangup and still ran a 12.00! LOL

Run 6:
Got another clean pass and ran 11.8698!

I’ll post the best timeslips below… Will get the gopro vids up in a little… Unfortunately, no out of the car vid as I couldn’t find someone to go… Then I taled to my one brother on the way home and found out he didn’t go into the shop so he would have went! FUCK! Sorry guys…

Really happy with the car and looking forward to modding some more and getting into the 11.5’s next year…

Oh and Saki, I believe I am now faster than any B6/7S4, S5, and B7 RS4:)

Great times Ron! That is an insane 60’! It really is amazing that every time someone goes to the strip the times just keep getting better. I probably won’t run again this year but hope to hit the strip in April with some new additions.

I think you are too…although all of the fastest 4.2 cars ran their times on pump gas. We need a pump gas, full interior championship belt lol.

Great times run. Who cares about the trap speed anyway…times are what people care about once the car is ‘proven’. Yours certainly is, so let’s see how low the ET can go.

Saki, I hear you man… Just razzin you as you usually point out I am still slower than the others so I figured I would have some fun…

Car ran great today… Hosting the gopro’s now… something is wrong with the trap timing on the left side… when you watch the gopro vid you’ll see… the 1/8th mph time is +2 mph high and the 1/4 mile mph is -2 mph low… Not a biggie… Really wish I would have known my brother was not going in today… I thought I would hit 11.5’s this year but I didn’t so that is the goal again for next year maybe 11.4’s in the late fall like now…

Winter plans or early spring… ported blower, maybe headers, whatever my brother can make on the intake side maybe spacers or a tb will see, and 100+lbs of weight loss…

Lol I know, I just need something new to prod you with now that you went 11.7!

I think people over reacted about the cats… could have been a tuning issue that has worked itself out in newer revisions (Ron had mentioned a beta tune?).

Regardless, congrats. Its good to see there is no doubt of you being on top with the 11.7x (versus kevkev’s claimed 11.8).

I’m very interested in the intake work, start a thread once you get working on it. I’d like to offer suggestions on testing/design but this may not be the place to do so.

I said a bunch of times that if the fastest cars are 034 cars, that’s pretty compelling evidence that the shit worked. I also said 'but we don’t know because nobody has done any homework on what this car really needs. Everyone just keeps buying shit!

Haven’t seen any scams yet though, so that’s good. MTM was weird…i don’t know what the deal was there. They didn’t do their homework. I guess that’s borderline scam.

Go back and get some runs on pump gas. You don’t drive the car every day with race gas so it’s a poor judge of a cars true power. It’s like cheating.

iirc Ron actually has only fueled it up with 100 octane since it was tuned… some else can get the pump record

034 was vilified mostly for the aluminum spacers and for denying everything. The one dude Phantom S4 (their beta car) or whatever had 034 install the cats themselves and they charged him to tighten the spacers twice after the fell off. That’s just wrong. Then when it happened to other people they said that they had never heard of it happening. LOL, really? It happened three times to their beta car and they’ve never heard of it? Finally, it happened to CircuitTested and they just couldn’t deny it anymore. Fuck them.

Joe, I don’t daily this car as I have a B7 A4 and I do in fact run nothing but 100 octane in the B8(since 2200 miles) as I did in the B5 and the Mustang… There are 3 stations within a few miles of my house that sell it at the pump so I run it fulltime… I know I’m the outlier…

No… I have never had a CEL from the cats once the strat spacers were installed… 034 was kind enough to take their spacers back for a refund minus restocking…
