So I ran another 335 last night

Guy claimed he dyno’d 480whp and wouldn’t stop talking about how fast he was. He had straight pipes and DP’s, cobb 100oct map i think (he called it protune) 100oct gas, intake, chargepipe think thats it. Here’s a 60 roll

Nice! What are your mods in addition to APR stage 2? I assume you were running 93?

Yet, you were still faster. nice!

lots of chadbros in those 335s. always happy to see the “four ringed grocery getters” do work.

Those 335s are usually no joke from a roll, I like seeing this outcome… What was his reaction?

He wasn’t expecting it as you can imagine. RS4, I’m intake, exhaust, test pipes, tune, pulley, lw wheels and brakes. Stock clutch (heard chatter after all was said an done rolling in first). He was a young guy who seemed to be misinformed, afterwards we all chatted for a while. I’m pretty sure he’s going to be doing a lot of reading in the next few weeks.

Forgot to mention, the camera car was an F10 550 xdrive with a piggy back. Guy says he’s the record hold in the 1/4 mile. Those cars move very well for their weight.

Very nice!

is that the detuned twin turbo v8? What are those like? What’s the record I wonder…

It is the TT v8, if you mean detuned version of the M5 then I have no idea. Don’t know if theres a dif. internally.

I think I see 12.3

yeah that’s what I meant. twin turbo V8 but not the M engine. The ‘regular’ 5 series engine (and all their other cars)

the N63 motor, the 4.4L twin turbo in the 550 and the X5…it’s strange but it never seemed to really make a splash so far. Burger came out with a tune, haven’t heard much about it. Dinan made an underwhelming version too.

Here’s that motor running without manifolds…

Dragtimes showed some guy Sergei who’s run low 12s@114…pretty unpopulated otherwise.

Apex putting in work! Nice kill bro!

Thanks Bear. Jspazz, that sounds like the guy

Hey nice runs that night, just to clarify that night my car was on low boost on which i run 12.7 @107 on high boost i ran 12.1 ;D.

That S4 moves, the 335i driver took way 2 much time to line up i was getting tired of the 5 mile line ups, lets get together this week and i will come out on high boost.

Better yet why don’t you fellas come out by us?? Luis knows the spots.

Also trying to get Richi to come out with Kryptonik. Def would be good turnout.

^^^PUT YOUR TIMES IN YOUR VIDEOS!!!

Had to get that off my chest. I was watching vids of your car. Looks great but the vids didn’t say what the times were. My youtube pet peave

Welcome to the site. Sounds like that platform is pretty solid.

You mention you ‘run 12.1’. How many times have you done that? What modifications were requred to do go 12.1? Thanks. The AWD BMW and MB cars are interesting to me, lving in Canada. The RWD stuff is a non-starter.

downpipes/catback
octane of the fuel you used
other mods (intake mani? lw rotors? FMIC/SMIC? etc.)
other info (any weight reduction done? tire size? density altitude if you know it…however DA corrected times are never going on this list, but it is always interesting to know in extreme cases if a car ran at say -1000 feet, or +6000 feet)

The 550i is basically an S6 competitor… S6 runs 12.1-12.2 stock so I’d expect more out of it honestly…

Regardless it’s very impressive for a big car, would love to see it run my cousins stock M5 would be cool to watch.

I agree, way too long to line up. Rolling at 40 for a mile isnt the best thing to do. I’ll try and make it out this week but the wife is getting sick so I’m on full time baby duties.

its posted on the slip on drag times http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-550i-Timeslip-25792.html

the run was not recorded because my go pro was inside car and the board that shows time was hit by lighting so it did not show times. I was running 12.2 about 6 times in a row and when i was given last run before track closes i pulled a 12.1

my mods: BMS stage 1 tune on 100 octane that’s it.

I ordered catted down pipes so hope i will get in to 11’s.

in regards to S6 and 550xi i think the 550xi is an A6 contender not S6 my car is about 300-400 lbs heavier than S6.
Same day i was there some guy ran 11.6 @ 118 in his S6 APR, Intake that’s what he told me at least.
