I ran 11.85@119 that day and my pops car went 11.61@118.xx as well. Both stage 2 s4’s one manual and one auto. We were both on VP Racing MS109 104 octane fuel.

Nice! i know you guys got there much earlier i only got there at about 11 i knew few Audi heads will be coming wanted to run. Those are amazing times… problem with the 550 it runs on a piggy back and DME cuts power to 0 at 6k RPM so i have to shift early those loosing time.

Boy the thread about this on vendorzine went down hill quick, big surprise… Didn’t realize you were on low boost and beta tune… Anything else we should be aware of? Also, just to clarify was the 11.9x on pump or race fuel?

Sounds like he just added some race gas but stayed on the pump tune, and ran the same et as he did on pump but gained some mph

Saki, Yeah I am just trying to get clarity and I should have been more clear… IE what race fuel, same pump tune, “low boost”, beta tune, etc. It’s just funny in this case how the beta tune seems to be a issue but when I was running the APR beta a few folks said it was an advantage… I guess it’s a perception thing…

It was an advantage for you. You weren’t running the Apr beta tune. The Apr beta tune was on Apr’s cars years ago when their engineers were trying to make parameters stick and not get erased, and trying to find where the information required to change certain parameters was in the mess of German and binary.

What you had, which people said was an advantage, and which definitely was an advantage, was a tune designed for better than 100 fuel and which pushed the car harder and got more results. It wasn’t a ‘from the ground up’ nee tune that may or may not work. They likely added a bunch of timing and closed the bypass more on their already proven 100 file . You may have beta tested that particular 104+ file or whatever it is called , but I believe his story is altogether different.

Sounds like he is the Apr test car phase from the looks of it for a tuner who is using his car as their whiteboard.

Saki, Not exactly… Not saying it wasn’t an advantage as I agree it was but it could be in this case as well I’m not sure since I don’t follow Bimmer’s… The beta tune I was refering to on my car was between v1 and v2 that fixed the boost bypass… Arin wasn’t seeing it down in AL on V1 with the heat but I was here in Ohio because of the cooler temps… I showed them my drag strip logs and they made changes for me… Basically the same thing GIAC just figured out which has everyone so excited but as mentioned I’ve still yet to see logs of the new GIAC tune, however based on Pete’s dad’s cars results it works pretty damn well…

The az thread was awesome. I was pulling for badblacksauce who defended well while a bunch of ignorant audi owners embarrassed themselves, but then he made the low blow crack about the one guy not being able to afford a 550 and he lost all power. Too bad. He could have continued to take the high Road and then watched them all make a million excuses for why the s4 lost. I like how they’re all so mad that they’re recruiting S6 owners to race him now lol.

Also funny is that they’re quoting S6 et and saying he will get killed in a roll race against an Apr tuned s6. I guess they don’t understand that et is irrelevant and trap speeds are what translates to roll racing results. Then they said his modded times = stock s6 times…not even close kids. Stock S6 runs 12.2-12.5 @ 112-114, not 11.9 @ 117

All around, all kinds of dumb in that thread from both brands.

Saki, Yeah the 104 tune came later in the game… the first beta I tested was to address bypass…

Also, I felt the same on the AZ thread… He was doing well but got down to the level of others and started making dumb comments as well… To each their own… Like I said car moves out no doubt about that…

Yeah i stopped paying attention to that thread… i love all cars and only posted result of my race against S4, now people started mentioning S6 etc. For every stupid comment i replied with a stupid comment.
Damn squats like my car.

My tune is not even a flash it’s a piggy back… at 6k my power drops to 0 from 470+ which is a bitch and causes me time in 1/4… I ran on 93 and race mix to get the data for the piggy back manufacturer, with race my trap went up but thats because i was able to increase PSI. For now no one has cracked the DME to help with keeping the power at 6k.

Hey i know i did get down to their level, but i said he couldn’t afford the S6 or 550xi just to be a dick since he was bringing up a car he does not own and i did not race. Them bringing up S6 was irrelevant to my video so i was just face palming myself the entire time.
