Also, CV is organizing a day at Milan Dragway for the 10/23 or 10/24. I’ll be headed over there if it ends up being on the 24th if anybody wants to join.
10/31 may also work for me. Will let you guys know. I’m also giving serious consideration to driving out to Milan the week before - that doesn’t look likely at this point, but if I can make it, I will.
Wow - youse guys are serious about this 1/4 mile stuff! Milan is a 4-hour drive from Chicago (5 hours for me in the 'burbs), which is at least 3.5 hours further than I’d be willing to drive for some drag strip runs. shrug
Byron has “Diesel Drags” scheduled for the 31st, and the on-line calendars at GLD and Route 66 don’t extend past early October, so I’ll call them today to see whether either will have test 'n tune on the 31st and will let everyone know.

In any case, Route 66 is closed for the year, so that leaves only GLD for the 31st. They’re open on weekends (weather permitting) until the snow flies.

The only problem is my first gear synchro is shot. I can all but guarantee I’ll be towing the car home if I go.
Why would first gear synchro be a problem here???
Maybe it won’t. I don’t know exactly what’s going on. During my last run at Milan, the shifter shot out of gear after the 60ft. and now there’s a really loud whine/moan happening as I’m driving In first gear which gets louder with speed. The transmission is also making some loud noise at about 90mph while cruising. Is this something you guys would be worried about or not? I really want to go and thinking I may just suck it up, just not looking forward to losing my car for an indefinite amount of time again and spending $5k+ to buy another transmission and ship the car to JHM again to get it installed. Decisions decisions. What do you guys think?
