the kits all come with a 104+ tune? Neat. I thought you usually had a 93, 100 and had to brow beat them for a 104+ tune.
some members have mentioned that they actually can’t get the tunes that some people get from APR.
Maybe they are changing the standard…lol, despite any real world testing on longevity of the motor.
well we just heard they have a new tune…Richi, who is apparently one of their test cars, got it flashed like 7 days ago…and that is the tune they’re putting on the kit.
So basically 0 miles of testing before selling widescale release.
They’ll definitely provide the 104 map without any hesitation (or they did to me anyway). The B8.5’s don’t have program switching (yet), so you’re stuck with it unless you go back to a dealer. Obviously, for someone like EC, that’s not a big deal. For most other B8.5 owners it’s kind of a pain.
Yea, 104 map anyone can get. However, they aren’t willing to give out beta tunes as readily. At least to me it seems like they let primetime test all these beta tunes and eventually release an update to others.
I had heard that a couple of people who were considering getting a jhm overdrive pulley were having trouble getting Apr to give them a tune for it.
Maybe they’re not ready to let others try it.
I wanted to try it before the season ended but you are right. They aren’t ready to let others try it. Sean indicated that they are close to a passable file on Ron’s car. He told me the next step would be to get a dual pulley car on their dyno before they release a file to anyone else. Hopefully they have something ready in time for spring.
Keeping my options open because I don’t want to run both pulleys without the right tune. Not really a huge concern at this point since I won’t be driving the car until spring. I’m kinda hoping a certain someone on here changes his mind and PM’s me about testing a dual pulley tune :). Nothing against apr, just think it would be an exciting alternative path
