Stepping into a JHM Stage 1 kit

This post is much appreciated. Thank you.

And completely agree about this forum. When I first posted that we were going to be doing this install, I received a ton of PMs from members expressing their desire to come lend a hand, share their experiences, or even provided their phone numbers if we needed help. There are some very technical and knowledgeable people that are always willing to share the passion on here.

Shrewd

Indubitably

Thnx for posting the vids. Man that sounds great!

he didn’t power shift once. In fact one might say he granny shifted. If one were mean

He was just going through the gears like normal

Car sounds solid inside the cabin. It’s neat how there’s virtually zero noise from the blower. Just at idle you can sort of hear it whistling.

I know he didn’t in the video, but who knows what is done when he is not filming. It is better to remind him now then when it is too late. ( assuming the clutch kit was installed)

Great updates 930, can’t wait to see you beat it at a strip!!

Exactly, not something you’d see on other forums. Atleast he didn’t just go on a 500 mile highway trip and call it “broke-in”

Why did you lock your AZ thread?

I can imagine the AZ thread wasn’t very enjoyable with the constant trolling…

No point in arguing with stupid. It would have just been round and round so I asked Tim to close it. I will post performance data as I accomplish it in a new thread.

you should un-lock it. Basically for the next 5 days it will be fine. Flying shitburg is on a 5 day suspension. From the sounds of it he seems content to not return, so that’s cool too.

If he wants to come back after 5 days and start the same shit again, he will be account terminated.

I see leave it open. the only possible result is he fucks off and leaves it alone, or he comes back and gets terminated. Well worth it

p.s. is Ben retarded?
A local RS4 did 390whp on 034’s dyno recently with the JHM Stage 1. Baseline for healthy RS4s there is 300-330whp.

I am still curious how <400WHP is capable of faster times than other kits with 500+whp?
1. is he REALLY saying that a healthy RS4 does 330 whp on that dyno? Show me a stock Rs4 that dyno’d 330 whp on that dyno. Hell Ben’s own car has full catless 2.75" downpipes and exhaust, as well as an APR tune, and it made 325 whp on that dyno. Someone needs to remind him of that.

 2. Does he not see that the 390 whp car is a stage 1 kit at 6 psi no intercooler, with ebdoesn’twork fcatted fullback and the JHM car that went 11.1 @ 125 is the JHM stage 2 kit at 8 psi with an intercooler and JHM fullback?

BenStlie…enough said

It just shows how uneducated ben and fly ingredients are along with the twit and AMD. They are all scared this kit with no intercooler is already chasing down therer intercooler performance numbers.

The sad part is that the trolling is detracting not only from JHM’s achievements but also the fact that 930 and his buddies installed this themselves. Really great stuff.

Yeah that’s a shame because he did it in a few days and had no problems.

Another team of enthusiasts is installing an Apr kit in california right now. They ran into a couple of snags and delays but are getting through it.

All this JHM s/c power has been too much fun not to enjoy and alas my stock clutch has thrown up the white flag and begged for an end to the abuse. I did a half hearted search on clutch installs and scared myself. This ain’t gonna be easy. I am sure with all the knowledge on this board that more then a few members have done their own install and might be willing to share their experiences. Any advice or suggestions…or even is there a write up somewhere out there that I missed? Thanks much.

Also, just a short update. Count Vohn is the man. Nothing more to be said on that subject. Have a set of JHM 2.75" catless downpipes on order, and taking baby steps on switching out my Miltek for the full JHM setup. I really do love my exhaust, even though I am sure it is hurting my performance. Other then that. The car drives great. Pulls really hard and just basically puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

Haha lasted longer than I thought it would!

Appears the stock clutch doesn’t have a prayer of handling the large power increase.

I went through that with my STi… had to swap out the stock clutch once my crank power was about ~25% more than stock. Ending up with a ACT system that drives like stock, but holds up fine with ~50% more power than stock. The LWFW that I swapped at the same time ended up being one of my all-time favorite modifications.

LWFW is definitely up there on my most appreciated mod list. Other than the obvious performance benefits, rev matched downshifts are waaay more fun with it. It makes it a lot sharper/meaner.
