Stepping into a JHM Stage 1 kit

Great stuff 93!

Do mind telling us where about you are located? Just a region is fine

Looking forward to the drag strip stuff and the road course.

Thanks much. I am in Maryland and will run the car at MIR. Get some of that magical DA! ;D

This is the other car. It looks better in pictures as it wasn’t built for show, but is still a lot of fun.

That is another sweet ride man…I’m envious. I have family in Frederick that I visit quite frequently and I may be moving to Philly soon. I’d love to try and make it to MIR when you have all your ducks in a row and make some runs.

Keep us updated with your progress and good luck.

Wow man, you are local to me since I live in northern Virginia. Once your car is ready to go, it would be great to see what a JHM SC does to a RS4. I already have a good idea of how it changes a B6 S4 with my car. If you have any questions about the install I would be glad to try to help.

I already have March 1sth 2014 circled on my calendar for when MIR reopens.

It would be a great time to change out your torque mount and engine mounts if you haven’t already when installing the supercharger kit.

930chas,

It has been a pleasure to work with you! I appreciate all of the kind words!

As far as I know, you are the first non-local customer to purchase the RS4 Supercharger Kit. Also, the local customer just picked up his RS4 today but still has to break in his clutch before he can really use all the power of the SC. I am not sure if he is a member on AR, but I know he is on AZ.

I look forward to seeing the progress of your build!

Jake

^lol, I remember the tune Count gave me when I had the new clutch and s/c installed on the S4 at the same time , I think it was detuned so much it was as fast as a stock S4 haha. Probably for the best.

Op, gorgeous second car. I moved from the S4 to the 996tt. Mind sharing what mods are on it for your 5.8 run or similar 1/4. K24/18g or A28’s I’m guessing. I’m just proto tuned right now (per counts recommendation), but I’ve had k16 billet hybrids, injectors and meth on my work bench for the past month, just haven’t gotten around to installing. And don’t want to deal with a clutch yet either lol.

Thanks much for the offer! I will definitely take you up on that because any and all help will surely be appreciated! Will shoot you a PM to get your contact info, if you don’t mind. Thanks again.

Thanks much. It has 3076s, fuel system, meth, 997gt2 i/cs, intake, full 3" exhaust, etc. Your car will be beastly with the hybrids. Instant spool! Do you have any pics of yours?

Where do you live now Gibson? Because there are three AMD kits and none of them are near DC .

Drove a JHM stage 1 kit yesterday. Car was excellent. Pretty crazy how good it was really.

Power builds and builds to redline . It’s a fantastic feeling. It doesn’t ‘feel fast’… It is damn fast. Anyone who says a cfuge isn’t right for the rs4 is nuts. Why wouldn’t you want a blower that syncs up with the rs4s greatest strength…it’s 8200 rpm rev limit? As rpms build it gets stronger and stronger.

I pboxed it and compared the data to my RS4. When I drove to the airport I pboxed my car in - 2400 feet of DA. Then when I was in california I tested the stage 1 car in +1200 DA, and had me + a 265 lb passenger (all muscle lol). The JHM car obliterated my car. It was not even close. If we had lined up, it would have been seriously embarrassing.

I then drove another JHM supercharged car stage 2+ with the upgraded fuel pumps and about 10 psi of boost. Holy mother fuck.

The numbers are hard to Comprehend relative to stock or even stage 1. Again, in not great DA, it obliterated even the stage 1 rs4. Then we added some race gas and the car took another crazy step up.

A stage 1 car would be a massive change in the performance life of any NA rs4 owner be they stock to full bolt ons. Stage 2 and beyond is another world entirely.

Chas/aka kyuss will really enjoy it.

^ Very jealous Saki!

I’m just taking a shot in the dark here but I’m guessing they are using APR’s upgraded fuel pumps?

Also in terms of driveablilty notice any change going from the stage 1 car to stage 2?

Did JHM do any forging for the stage 2, or is it the stock internals?

I don’t believe they have since they are running safe levels of boost,

however they are working on building the RS4 as we speak!

Very nice! I can’t wait to enjoy it! What clutch was in the stage 1 car? Was that car running the JHM full 2.75" exhaust? What performance aspects did you test with the pbox and what where the differences between the two cars? Out of boost did it drive like a stock-ish rs4?

1r clutch in stage 1

Worked very well.

Jhm 2.75 exhaust

Jhm will decide what to do with pbox info.

Out of boost?

Shot and missed wildly.

drivability…I notice nothing. They each feel like a very comfortable rs4. Count vohn knows how to tune so drivability concerns are silly

Sorry, meant just puttering around town, not hammering on the car, what were your thoughts?

That is good to know on the 1r. I think I am going to switch up and go that route this time around, and then most likely go with the 5r when stage 2 is available.

Excellent. I figured this would be the case, but that answers my other question as well.

We will have to wait and see what it does

JHM will absolutely not strip it to run a number. You new here?

If you consider NJ “no where near DC” then you are correct saki. And I think what he’s referring to is what the car feels like at lower rpm. For example, the APR below like 3500 rpm feels and sounds kinda like a stock RS4. Not jumpy at all. So, how is the JHM S/C characteristics at lower rpm. I would never call someone’s drive ability concerns silly. It’s just a simple question, but then again that’s just me.
