account terminated is pretty severe. I can see a suspension for an infraction. Maybe he already has 4 infractions? Or was he someone’s duplicate account and AZ just finally figured it out? Everyone liked to say it was me, but it’s definitely not. Any trouble on audizine and instantly people blame me lol.
Who knows. Maybe he will join here. Or maybe he terminated his own account and is crying himself to sleep because RF lost yesterday.

Interesting that Stubek edited a couple of swank’s posts in that thread. I bet this was the fourth infraction. I’m sure he’s aware of AR, so we’ll have to see if he comes over.

I don’t get the Hansel guy. He has a 5 year old car. He tuned it with APR tune/pulley. his car wasn’t performing well. He freaks out and complains and people like swank call out APR
So either
- APR forgot how to tune and all of those 11 second runs by primetime, 81bear et al on their 2010 S4s are no longer repeatable
- there is something wrong with Hansel’s car
So…what should Hansel do? Again, 2 choices
- fix your car locally, starting with the guys who most recently worked on it (installing his tune and pulley)
- call a company 2000 miles away that wrote the software that is working swimmingly on hundreds of 2010 S4s to help diagnose his car’s problem
Better yet are the guys who forget that running in 90 degree heat produces less than stellar results. Or the guy who forgets that he lives at 7000 feet of elevation and everyone seems to think that a supercharger will compensate for that miraculously lol.

He’s not handling it the right way. He should have just worked with his dealer to diagnose the issue - APR would definitely have helped in reviewing logs etc. Now it’s just a mess on AZ that will probably result in a thread lock.
Looks like the B8 guys still have west to help elevate the platform. I read the B8 S4 forums sporadically and I don’t even remember seeing swank suspended in the past. There’s got to be more of an explanation for the termination.

I’d be very upset if I spent 2500+ on a giac/apr tune and run in the 13’s. Apr/giac need to get a better sales/tuning model and soon. Obviously clueless dealers and people not having dyno proven gains is an issue.
I wonder how many other people have just as slow of cars and don’t even realize it because they are going by what apr/giac have posted on their websites.

I’ll have to possibly go read more on the thread but I think this is the first part of the down turn for the B8 S4. The cars are now 4 and 5 years old. GIAC AND APR have a long list of success. Proven time and time again. I can possibly understand there might be issues that need to be looked at for the newest year of S4. Still at this point it’s clear GIAC and APR know what their doing. I’d be more willing to say if someone with GIAC or APR aren’t getting typical results they need to look at the health of the car before questioning the tune.

Lol… Figured it was a matter of time before he got banned… I still don’t think he even owns an s4 but whatever… He likes to bash the tuners but probably wouldn’t get tuned no matter what was offered… I guess it’s one thing to bash if you’re spending money but he isn’t so his constant noise got old and bye bye federer… He did have a good knowledge base but made many assumptions and when they were pointed out as being wrong he never acknowledged… Wonder if apr complained or if vendorzine did it on their own?
Oh and there’s Saxon blowing bs… Yeah epl is a proven commodity with their 3 tunes sold and your stellar times… Then in this thread he talks about tony doing custom tuning… No, tony will flash the standard file remotely that’s not a custom tune… Apr’s done more “custom” tuning on my car then epl ever did/will on his… I just had to send them the ecu… Come on Brian get real dude…

- “people not having dyno proven gains” - huh? APR and GIAC are all about the dyno ‘proven’ gains. Track proven results is where they’ve lacked in the past (but that appears to be changing at APR at least)
Saxon is a tard. EPL sells nothing but dyno sheets. Literally nothing. They’re the 9th man to the table in the B8 S4 tuning world (now that the tools are for sale) and have, as they have with all platforms, been unimpressive.

No doubt he had several infractions, and whatever happened in that thread was the final blow. There had to be more to it that that thread. That was pretty tame compared to a lot of the banter and commentary.
In regards to the actual issue at hand, I think you can see my responses. There is something going on with some of the recently tuned cars, but I can’t say what it is. No doubt, my car is not running very well with the stage 2 tune, and it’s a 2012 which has proven to be pretty strong. Now with 2 trips to the drag strip I have yet to break below 13@106.
With that said, I am going to get to the bottom of this before I go back to APR. I’m not ready to point the finger at APR. Anyone that does so without logging, and understanding what is going on with their specific car, is jumping the gun. A big thanks to Ron for pointing me in the right direction with the logging as it made it a lot easier to figure out what is going on with my car. I’m glad I don’t have to rely on a shop to do it as it’s pretty easy to understand once you get into it.
As I mentioned in the thread, APR’s tech support did leave something to be desired, but I’ve come to accept that most tech support orgs work like that. Their only suggestion to me was to add a CPS, which from my logging I can now see is not an issue. There was no request for logs, documenting of my issue, follow-up, etc.
^^ jran76 do you have a separate thread outlining your issues? I couldn’t find one on AR. If you have time, it would be good to see an overview of what you’ve found so far. I know i don’t have a B8 but it’s interesting reading nonethless.
