so i picked up the car yesterday and i gotta say the small things def make this a better DD than the b8. the electric steering that everyone who doesnt have a b8.5 bitches about is so far very nice IMO. the 2014’s now have an automatic hill assist and holds the brakes for 3 seconds if in first gear which is nice for all the hill traffic i deal with. the soundaktor is a nice gimmick but just like a toupee in my eyes. and i def dig the red interior, im sure its much easier to keep clean than my black/silver seats, especially now that i dont smoke ciggs anymore, that new car smell will actually last for once haha. i also noticed that the clutch just feels much beefier than my b8 ever did. otherwise its nothing really new here.

Congrats bud! The RS has hill assist, I hate it… Feel I have to use more gas pedal pressure to get the car moving… Just my .02. So how long till its stage 2?

Looks great! Didn’t even know you were were making the upgrade (though I have been AWOL lately). What did you do with all the mods on your B8?

was supposed to be today but the shop had no time to squeeze me in haha. but tomorrow i will do pulley+tune, intake, diff mount and short throw. then all the other stuff later on

and about the hill assist, you actually dont need to use ANY gas. the newer audis actually apply the gas for you now if you dont do it yourself. my 2011 did that. idk about the ttrs but on the s4 the hill assist is super smooth

thanks man, definately hardest thing ive ever done… the majority of mods will go right back on the car. the parts that dont fit and are b8 specific are for the most part already all sold

p.s. That interior looks pretty exotic. Good for the S4 to add a little excitement to the consummate Q ship. Kinda like a girl in a business suit wearing a very hot thong underneath.

here’s a way to make it less annoying. From an R8 owner. Hill Hold Assist is extra annoying if you push the brakes too hard when you’re stopped. It increases intensity of the HHA based on how hard you push the pedal down.

On your favourite incline, mash the brake down as hard as you can and then you will see really how hard it is to get the car to move.

Then try just using just enough brake pressure to keep the car from rolling backwards and then you will notice that the system can operate as expected - without that somewhat violent release.

You will simply learn to use very light brake pressure when at stop lights on an incline

im up in the air with the headers, i will be keeping them for now but not installed till at least the spring if i do. i need to see what they do with a stage 3 car for myself first

as for the hill assist, i was VAG’ing my buddies car yesterday and notice in the parking brake module that there are different thresholds you can set for the sensitivity of the whole system.

also i know in 2010 and up in europe, there was an optional button fitted to turn the hill assist on and off and it goes in the blank spot under the parking brake. maybe its as easy as installing the switch since it seems all the right modules for controlling it are there

Saki, lol… That is exactly the conclusion I reached… I use enough pressure to hold the car but not really “activate” the system…

ya run stock first. that way you can compare the marginal improvements of your mods.
