The 3.0 movement

Hello MIKE. I think we all thank you for your commitment to the 3.0 game.

This is a much better place then Audizine. I think the issue is lots of the AZ guys need to come across like they know when they don’t and lots of the old guys with the 1.8T guys don’t want to look stupid for all the years they kept telling people that the 3.0 was a dead fish.

I can assure you, Ill do what ever i can to help the 3.0 game go as big as we all want it to go. Just like the 2.7T guys started to eat crow the 1.8T guys are going to have a big plate of 3.0 pie to eat soon.

Big cheers for Mike being a new member and really helping make a comitment to the 3.0 advancement.

Can we get a build thread? that would be exciting

X2, major props and a build thread would be awesome ;D

Hey I found this forum last night, read it and fell in love. I’m really glad to hear that someone is helping out us 3.0 guys! I know its been a while since anyone has posted but I was curious if there were any updates on this. I was on JHM’s site and they didn’t have anything listed for sale but apparently their store is going to be updated soon, maybe it will reflect this awesome ecu and tcu tune?

And as far as lending a helping hand, if you guys need another 3.0 to work on, you can borrow mine, I can’t drive it right now nor for probably the next 6 months due to my situation.

Thanks again to motorsport for getting this started and count for putting in the work you do and doing an excellent job (from what i have heard and hope to soon experience)!

welcome to AR. Hope your situation isn’t a bad one.

Where are you located? PM JHM to see if thy need any more donors. I think they just went out and bought a couple of 3.0 cars at the end of 2011.

Hopefully they get to updating the forum soon. They have made a switch fabricator wise apparently so that’s what has sucked cock for the past 6 months. RS4 guys are waiting it out patiently too.

Dammit we need to get some movement on the movement, I’ve been hearing about wrapping up and finishing touches for over 6 months! My friend just bought a b6 S4 so now I have to either make my A4 faster than his or sell it! hahah. It’s a tip cabriolet so It’s a piggy, but it’s still gonna make me look slow as molasses.

tip cabrio B6 S4 is a perfect car to produce an overconfident driver who gets his ass raped lol.

Make sure he buys a 2.25" milltek exhaust and a GIAC tune for it

Lol that’s exactly what would likely happen… I’m hoping once the 3.0 hardware is released I’ll have more of a fighting chance.

Since I just did this, here is some “help” for others that may also do it. You can get the security screws out with a pair of vice grips and an adjustable wrench if you don’t have a Dremel (I don’t have one). Make sure the vise grips are very tight, I could barely close mine to give a general idea of how tight it should clamp down. The first few times I tried, the vise grips just slid off the security bolt. It will be very hard to turn, so I would recommend using a pair of adjustable pliers to get more torque. After 1-2 full turns, I didn’t need the adjustable wrench anymore, and once it was half way out, I could get the bolt out with my fingers.

If people are looking to replace the bolts but don’t want to get replacement security bolts, they are M6x1.0 - 12mm bolts. I figure if someone is desperate enough to try and rip out my ECU, security bolts aren’t going to stop them, so I’m just going to replace them with standard bolts then at some point (only put one back in)
