I’m heading to SFO this January to visit a friend that who works for Google. My main goal is to head out to Tahoe and ride to my hearts content on the fluffiness of REAL powder.
I am asking ALL of you to pray for an awesome amount of snow to be dumped onto Tahoe this coming winter, please? ;D
Tahoe is amazing. I stayed in Reno and drove to some different hills. It was a longer drive (45-60 mins). The main benefits of Reno are cheap accommodation and plethora of buffets! I’ve stayed in South Lake Tahoe as well which was nice
Sounds awesome man. Not sure how the snow has been the last couple of years over there but good luck. The 12-13 season sucked here but then the 13-14 season was amazing. I’m hoping I actually get to hit the mountains this season, I bought a season pass last year and used it once.

From what I gathered through some of my SoCal friends, last year and the year before were not that great. They said everything started late and kinda killed the season so they’re looking forward/hoping this year will be a good one.
I’ve never ridden on west coast powder but I’ve heard its completely phenomenal compared to the east coast. The only time I’ve ridden in some good east coast stuff was when I took a trip up north to Killington and my trip to Snowshoe WVa about three years ago.
May be worth trying further North if you come up this way again, Killington doesn’t have the best conditions typically. Sugarbush, mad river glen, jay peak, saddleback, sugarloaf (if you liked the vibe at Killington), cannon all have way better snow in my experience. Also better terrain and less tristaters
