I think I’ve cemented myself to Brecken with Vail as a second choice. My trip will happen at the end of January to first of Feb so in about two weeks; I also realized it’s the week after the X-Games!
Thanks for the lookout on those package deals, I completely forgot about that aspect. For the moment, I’m scouring VRBO for lodging within Breck or neighboring Frisco.
Awesome. I’ll see if I can make it up the 28th or 29th. Sorry, no avant, just a sedan. You’ll definitely want to go for a ride in Denver though. The elevation up by Breckenridge basically neuters the car I need to get an elevation tune and that 3.5" pulley.
Finally got the thumb checked out today. Broken, fragment of bone might have caught on a ligament but likely won’t require any more attention if follow up x-rays look good. They gave me a nice waterproof splint for it in the meantime.

I ended up using VRBO and currently waiting back on a reply, thanks though.
Also, made a video of my first runs of the year…haha, needed to work out the kinks and whatnot. I think most of it got worked out. First spill of the year resulted in me losing my board, the Flow bindings failed me.

Bunch of great info here about skiing Summit County, etc.
One little detail though. Your Keystone pricing is WAY off. If you buy a Keystone/A-basin only pass it’s $72-$96/day depending on how many days you buy.
I have a place at Keystone and having been skiing all the resorts in the area for almost 30 years.
Wish I lived closer.
Here is a vid that I took a few years back of a glade run in the Outback (Keystone).

@MDubz - I never got a chance to hit you up during my trip out there, completely slipped my mind; my apologies.
I tried cramming everything mountain related into four days of vacation but ended up falling short and spending most of my time at the resort. We climbed to the summit of Peak 6 on day one but greeted by a sudden “storm” of snow, high winds and wtf-god-is-angry-at-us cold that made the climb that much more challenging.
Peak 8 was a MUCH better climb, thankful for the blue bird day that second day. The ride over to peak 7 was fun but since I can’t keep a line on narrow paths, my ass was planted to the ridgeline every few hundred feet but the bowl drop was AWESOME.
Overall, Breck is an awesome place to ride! I’m a little sadden that I didn’t get a chance to ride Vail or Keystone but three non-stop days of riding at Breck is enough to satisfy me.
