The Skiing/Boarding Thread

so killington opened yesterday, sunday river opens today, sugarloaf is blowing snow… looks like its near

killington is also supposed to get 3" wednesday night and 2" thursday afternoon… so I’m already feeling sick for Friday (high of 41*F & sunny) lol. Tickets are $39 and I have 4 two for one vouchers to use.

Also all set to do thanksgiving day for bretton wood’s opening day, black friday at cannon for opening day and that sat/sunday for the sunday river demo day.

Sunshine is opening this Friday and I’m heading up for sure. I took my kids riding at Canada Olympic Park for the opening moring last Saturday and had a little fun. It’s not much of a hill but it’s 5 minutes from my house and they do olympic training there so the park (not yet open) is usually pretty good.

nice, there’s a little hill 5 minutes away from my parents that I went to occasionally:

I know where I’m gonna be tomorrow…

Holy shit!

4 feet of snow already…pretty sound. We’ve had…0.

I think Toronto is in a bubble. We haven’t seen snow of any actual size in like 2 years. Last year we had about a total of 6" of snow…I can’t remember such a weak winter. This year nothing. Alberta is covered. Virginia had 2 feet. New York and Mass. got a bunch. Toronto got nothing.

90 minutes north of Toronto has half a foot of snow covering everything right now. Toronto…nothing.

nice

my plan for tomorrow

here is what Saki was refering to north of Toronto

I actually live about 25 minutes south of where the photo was taken and we are on green grass all around!

winter mode… ya know? :stuck_out_tongue:

Opening day and it’s been dumping… It’s on a Friday… The roads will be shit… Therefore the punters will be at work/put off by the roads…

I live in the wrong province

Oh man! That looks like fun!

DAMN THE SNOW RIGHT NOW~!!! >:(

got to go up to bretton woods last thursday, was a nice morning even with the limited terrain. also took advantage of the sunday river one day sale, excited to get up there within a month.

Lots of snow in Calgary, tons in the mountains, well over a metre base in most cases. I convinced the family to hit the hills this winter. So I just finished outfitting everyone with new boards (self included)

Little Man(5) -Burton Chopper 115 Star Wars Edition (Boba Fett)
Hers- GNU B-NICE 153 with K2 Auto Agogo Bindings
Mine- Lib Tech Banana Magic BTX Horsepower with Union Atlas Bindings

Pretty excited to get out on the slopes this season, wife and kid are enrolled for lessons over the holidays

I picked my wife up a B-Nice a while back and she loves it. My kids ride Burton kidddy boards too Chicklets in 90 and 100cms.

I found this old pic of me and a buddy on the Shuskan Arm at Mt Baker circa 2000… It was a good day…

Good to hear about the BNice. My wife is little apprehensive about starting to board in her 40’s.

If all goes well I will hit you up and we can make a couple of family trips out of it
